19 ‘You shall keep My statutes. You shall not let your livestock breed with another kind. You shall not sow your field with mixed seed. Nor shall a garment of mixed linen and wool come upon you.
New King James Version
Help me understand here, I'm reading these answers that say if society accepts homosexuality that we will get the wrath of god, but if god doesnt change and one of his rules is dont wear silk and cotton, don't we have an obligation to stop people from these sins of fashion, lest we incur the wrath of god,
see, one of the reasons i can't get into the whole anti-homosexual movement in christianity is the hypocrisy of ignoring the other rules of god, please help,

I think Lev 19:19 is saying that the Israelites should not mix themselves in with other cultures and belief systems, but should rather stay fast to their religion and to the statutes of God. If, for instance, you allow your livestock to mix with other kinds, you'll get animals which can't breed. Horse + donkey = mule. If you sow your field with mixed seed, then you won't be able to harvest everything at the proper time, nor will you be able to sort it and store it without a huge amount of difficulty. If you make a garment mixed with both linen and wool, then when you go to wash it, some parts will shrink more than others, and it will get all pulled out of shape. Thus the passage is saying that if you mix beliefs with other nations, you will be weak and flawed. If you stay true to Yahweh, you will remain strong. And as as God himself states in the Old Testament (Joel 2:13, Deut 10:16, Isaiah 1:10-20, Hosea 6:6, Mic 6:8), and as Jesus teaches in the New Testament (Mt 12:1-8, Mk 10:2-12, Luke 13:11-16) following the spirit of the law is far more important than following the letter. God doesn't care about whether his followers wear silk with cotton, but that they stay true to him.

Jim,
Nice flag. AArrrghh! To answer your question, most(not all) biblical scholars, first of all recognize that there are two different laws. The first is the moral law, what we call the Ten Commandments. These were placed inside the Ark of the Covenant. The second set of laws were the ritual laws, set forth for the organized conduct of the Jewish civilization. These laws were set forth to provide a guide for daily living, in an age when nobody knew what bacteria, or DNA were. It is generally agreed, that the second set of laws, were set aside at the Crucifixion of the Christ. Although some say that the Ten Commandments were also set aside, you only have to read Matthew 5-17, and all doubt will be removed. As far as what others may or may not be doing, Here is what I do. When I look at myself in the mirror in the morning, If I am less perfect than God, then I let the judgment of others fall into His hands. If I look in the mirror, and I have achieved absolute perfection, then I will start to judge others. No luck with that perfection thing so far.

You are taking you quotes out of context or using sources other than the Bible for information...
Leviticus 19:19 begins..."And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them..." Ther is no universal law laid down for all times...!!
In Exodus 12:14 the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying..."And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever." This is true.
Exodus 27 refers to the tabernacle. It is part of a physical description. For complete information, I suggest reading the whole chapter.
In fact it is pretty tedious to go through your list of Bible qoutes and explain them all. You obviously never even read the book that you are discussing...!! If you take the time to read the Old Testament, you will find very few things are proclaimed as all-time truths. It is mostly history.

There are actually quite a number of those laws that exist in the old testament that are left unaccounted for...people just focus on what the TRANSLATION appears to say about homosexuality...if you go back and read anything by scholars who have translated directly from the Hebrew, there is some debate over what those verses that supposedly condemn homosexuality actually mean...

Well, first of all, you are quoting all old testiment. before christ died for our sins, we had to abide by Gods rules and if we didn't we had to sacrifice in order to get forgiveness. Read the new testiment. this is were Jesus dies for ALL of our sins, whether it be homosexuallity, or wereing mixed linens. All that you have to do is accept that forgiveness and believe that Jesus is who he is and did what he did. It's like God has a gift for us, and it's all ours if we take it, but God can't make us take it, it's up to you. And obviously it has to be a reall belief, just because you say you believe or say a prayer, doesn't mean that you do believe. God knows you heart, and that's what matters.

The only wrath that Mankind will feel, moving forward in time not back, is the wrath of rejecting the Son of God. That was the most precious gift that God could give to help us, and rejecting that will not be to anyone's benefit.

These are the list of ordinaces and rituals given for the people in that society at that time. we do not adhere to the rituals given to that society and we were not meant to. The Bible says we are not condemned because of not following Ritualistic guidelines, But the BIble says were condemned because of sin (breaking Gods law). for example, ever told a lie? ever stolen something? ever looked with lust or used Gods name in vain? If you have said yes to these questions your guilty of breaking four of the Ten Commandments. The BIble says that since you have broken His Holy Law, if you stand before Him and he gives you justice, you could end up in Hell for an eternity. the good news is that Jesus christ came and suffered and died on the cross to take the punishment you deserve. If you will repent (turn form sin) and put your faith and trust in Jesus, God wil grant you everlasting life

I've seen this question presented many timese elsewhere ... personally, I find the "law" ludicrous. Then again, I find nearly all of the "laws" in the Bible to be ludicrous.
You should forward your query to Pat Robertson ... he claims to have a deep personal relationship with God.
