Could very well be constipated, the watery stuff goes around the hard painfull stool. First take the child to a doctor. Feed much more fiber and make sure the child drinks a lot of water. Not milk, juice or pop....water. Also does he have diaper rash? That can be very painfull.

It's very common for a child who is teething to have diarrhea, and of course diarrhea is often painful and always discomforting. So maybe that's cause for his crying.
I think chamomila extract could be useful in some cases, but it's better to check it out with his doctor.
I think the "problem" won't last very long, but it could be a good idea to go over the foods he is eating at the moment. Is he still being breastfed? Or not? What solid foods is he eating now?
I would suggest to you that you cut down on or eliminate completely cow's milk and all dairy. Give him three main meals a day:
morning: porridge made with rice flour and almond milk (and a little demerara sugar). Later on, as he grows older, he may eat some bread with butter or nut cream and some warm beverage. Check to see if he is not intolerant to gluten.
lunch and supper: boiled potatoes and steamed veggies in a purée form and incorporate: a) cooked meat; b) cooked fish or c) boiled egg. Instead of potatoes, you can also give him white rice or noodles, provided he is not allergic to gluten. Later on, when he is ready to eat some fiber, you'll introduce some raw veggies, gradually. But never forget the protein. Season the veggies with a little (a few drops actually) virgin olive oil.
afternoon: some raw fruit (grated or mashed). In the winter, little fruit or cooked fruit (without sugar) is better.
If you want to give him some dessert just after the meal, it's optional, you can choose: a) cooked fruit with little sugar or b) homemade cookies (without chemical additives) and just one or two cookies to soothe his sweet tooth, if he has one. But give no foods between the meals, except breastmilk, if he wants it.
Hope this helps.

Take a look at the rectal area - he may have one heck of a diaper rash. I work for a pediatrician and many parents report the BMs smelling HORRIBLE and they could be a little more acidic than normal, and if his skin is a little chafed, it could feel like FIRE to him.
If the rash is open or oozy, he needs to see the doctor ASAP.
If it's not, just really red, go to the pharmacy and get a product called Triple Paste. It should soothe his little tushie. BTW - don't use wipes until the rash clears. Just use lots of warm water and a little Dove soap. The wipes can leave a film on his skin that'll irritate.
Good luck!

I'd bet the teething is causing his stomach to cramp...thus the watery stool. Check with you pediatrician to make sure there's nothing else wrong. Lots of doctors will tell you teething won't upset the stomach, cause a fever, or cause sinus problems, but it can. I'm an RN with 2 kids and I've seen it all. Just check with your doctor, and good luck!
