If those in late teens and early twenties meet, pull each other, date, make out, pull each other in clubs and parties and hang out togther in mixed age groups , often mates younger sister/brothers etc.

And most teenagers in late teens are already sexually active.

And girls mature faster then girls AND have a easy peasey time on the dating circuit where its not trying to pull but time spent rejecting guys all the time for the most trivial things, getting guys to pay for drink, meals, dinenr etc...

Why all the fus if one happens to be in high school/sixth form or college, a student and the older one is a teacher when the age difference is only a few years, often less then the difference betten their parents?

Why not check to see if there has been any manipulation on either part. (ie genuine abuse) and if not sjut swap their classes or gradings so there is no position of power or opportunity to bribe.

Especailly as peers maybe jerks as much as older guys

Seen many cases in paeprs and documentries where the couples stay together , get married and live happy ever after once people butt out and leave them alone, even when the guy was arrested...

All that happens is a good teacher looses their job...

As said if there is abuse then it does not matter if their the same age or not, abuse is abuse.

But often its a case of these things just happen...

And often the girl has more sexaul experience in dates, realtionship time, and even sex then the older guy.

As lets face it... girls have it easy and they dont have to be good and chatting up or anything, just pretty and guys have to approach them.

With often the girl defending him.

As said people those ages date.

I have had several freisns end up with other freinds younger borothers, sisters, cousins etc and were perfectly happy, whilst others the same age were not.

Like wise collegues at work.

or doctors and patents

or how about two teachers whats wrong with a teaching couple kissing or making out like the students... they love each other so why not...

Not as though they are mugging grannies or attacking anyone...

So what id the students tease them a little... if there is a good teacher student realtionship 9non sexaul) the kids should be cool miss or sir is in love with a nother teacher...

MAybe even the guys could ask them for advice on how to impress the girl they like, likewise the other way around especailly if young teachers.

so there are no ******** or fail, or if you do this Ill give you a good grade rubbish...

if someoen else is doing the marking or better still student in another class down the corridor whats the prob.,..?

And as said... friend in twenties, were dating those in late teens and making out in parties, and nightclubs, and often the girl made the first move...

Im just pointing out whats the difference if he was a postman, office worker, rock star (they are pretty common groupies and all that), lawyer, dolphin trainer or whatever

Yes I am talking both legal age or just under it ... ie a few weeks or months wont make that much difference... But mainly legal.

If it not better for a girl to be in a more steady realtionship, maybe with someone with more sense say where it comes to alcohol.

Then banging the entire football team?

Was thinking more along the lines of

Teacher 25, student 17 = 8 years diff... which is normal not teacher 50 and student 16.

As 16 year olds usually dont date 50 year olds

but they do date those in early, mid even late 20s.

WHY ASSUME i MEAN AINCIENT TEACHER????

I even said in 20s

As a school governor, I can tell you that there are many reasons:

With so many public exams including a significant teacher-marked element - what is to stop teachers offering better marks for sex (or pupils making the offer)?

Parents trust their childrens school to look after them - not to ensure they lose their virginity to a predatory teacher.

It would be rare for such a relationship to be true. Girls (especially) idolise teachers as the first non-family authority figure/friend. This allows lecherous teachers to use them.

I could go on.

Many times, as in, most cases, the problem comes into the limelight when the younger of the two is under the legal age of consent. In the area I live, the age of consent is 16 and I can tell you this...as a 54 year old male, the very last possibility I would consider is becoming involved with a 16 year old female! I do know guys my age though who wouldn't think twice about it but they also seem to be among the group who feel that "if you don't get caught, you commited no crime". Their sense of personal ethics is somewhat lacking in my opinion. These are guys I personally know.

On the larger scale, I can tell you that in my experience, the majority of people ages 14-26 have a long way to go to reach a level of maturity that would be needed for a long term relationship. MOST...not all. At age 16, a person just doesn't have the wisdom of life experience to allow them to handle the events that take place in a commited relationship. That age group is still into clubbing and hanging out on an almost nightly basis. And they should be doing those things at that age. But a relationship requires more time, patience and giving of oneself than someone in that age group can usually give so the pattern emerges where it becomes like a square dance..."Change Partners!". My own children exhibited this behavior till they were in their late 20s. I see many of their friends doing the same.

Society has always frowned on those who tended to steer toward a much younger partner, and in my opinion, with good reason. It is seen as one who is older, taking advantage of the lack of experience of the younger. And, a grownup in a position of authority, such as Debra LaFave or any of the others listed are betraying the trust put in them by society and should pay the penalty for this. Honestly, at age 14, there really isn't a true sense of what love & commitment really is in most cases. "Puppy Love" is more likely what is really taking place.

At that young age, there is a sense of urgency, like tomorrow will never come and believe me, it arrives all too soon. The ages in question are a time for learning, making friends, having fun and preparing for life as an adult, not jumping into an adult life before you're ready.

Example: Subject 1, female, age 17. Subject 2, male, age 31. Age difference: 14 years.

Example 2: Subject 1 is now 28, subject 2 is now 42.

Example 3: Subject 1 is 46, subject 2 is now 60.

Think about that stages of life one encounters at all the ages mentioned and compare the subjects at those ages. The results could be very telling.

As I said, this is my opinion, based on my experiences and those of my children and there are exceptions to every rule.

The thing is teachers have power and trust. If you decide to become a teacher then you CANNOT have relations with a student. Its a unspoken/unwritten rule. Its common sense really. However i understand what you are saying as the student could be late teens and the teacher early twenties and obviously you cannot help attraction. If this becomes the case then the teacher or student should move schools/colleges so that they can be together, as long as the age range is obviously legal!!! They should do this for there own reputation. Otherwise the teacher could lose everything.

There's nothing wrong with a Teacher and a high school student having sexual relations? What planet are you on?

Follow-up: It's an ethical issue and there's the legality aspects of it too. Yeah, I could think of at least 3 or 4 teachers I wanted to bang back in school. Doesn't make it ok.

Last follow-up. Dude, no one is going to read your life story hence the responses you got. K.I.S.S - Keep It Simpe Stupid.

there is a restriction. it is in the teachers legally binding contract that they cannot have a sexual relationship with a pupil. i agree that people of these ages do date but a teacher is in a position of trust and therefore if you give a bit of leeway then it is open for abuse. where do you draw the line 18yr boy with a 25yr old teacher, 17yr boy with a 28yr teacher, 16yr girl with 30yr old teacher? and it would mean also same sex relationships would be allowed (i have nothing against this but it does put another angle on things). people of school age should respect their teachers and not put them in the difficult situation where they could lose their jobs and careers.
