I'm not sure how much less fat there is than butter, but I know it's much better for you than butter, and even other butter substitutes. You can use olive oil in any recipe that calls for butter, and it works just the same. I can't tell the difference.

Not exactly, but I discovered a brilliant low fat substitute for cooking only. You can definately get it at Sainsbury's, its in a liquid form, like melted butter ifyou like, and I THINK its called Delight or something similar, its in a squeezy bottle (like the Heinz ketchup squeezy bottle shape) and the liquid is yellow and the label and plastic lid are dark green. It is lower in fat and tastes just like butter, it is really easy to use and doesn't separate or curdle. Must get some more, thanks for reminding me.
