Are many Christians really just homosexuals who are obeying the call of specific Bible interpretations that it is a sin for Christians to be gay.
There could be many gay Christians living a phoney str'8 lifestyles to oblige religious customs.
How do we tell which ones are really gay but are living the str8 lifestyle only to conform to religious rules and the ones who are genuinely str'8?
PS
I think it's spooky! if only people would accept & be themselves then I wouldn't need to worry about these scary things.

madamesophia...Thank you for sharing, unfortunately when society won't accept people for what they are it turns a drama into a crisis, it destroys the lives of individuals and is devastating for the people around them...where are the moral values in that?... but Christians won't show any emotion here and they'll shift any blame back onto your husband. Stay strong!

As a woman who was married to a bisexual cross dressing Christian I know that this particular person went crazy and committed suicide because he was trying to deny who he was. He joined the army back when gays weren't allowed in and married me to "Prove to the world " that he wasn't gay. I know firsthand of the hell he went thru and the hell he put me thru trying to live this way. I would hate to see anyone live like that. So how can a Christian God hate people he created in his own image? Is God afraid he is gay?

Please. Stop saying "Scientific Fact". THere are no scientific facts, only well supported hypotheses. Scientists themselves don't use the word "Fact" or "Prove". That's just my two cents. And maybe those who believe that the Bible says homosexuality will put them in hell, feel that suppressing their homosexuality is a small price to pay for eternal peace. If heaven is true, sex will not be part of our lives, so it won't matter if you're hetero or homo. If I was gay, and fully believed with all my heart that God will not let people who have gay sex into Heaven, then I'd become celibate. There's a lot more to life than sex. My sexuality doesn't define me.

I think you can presume rougly 10% of Christians to be gay. And most of them to be closeted.
If it is true that homosexuality is genetic, then the only explanation for its continued existence in Christian countries (as far as I can see) is repressed closeted gays.
I'm not sure if I believe that sentence myself, but the people who say there is a genetic basis for homosexuality have studied the idea much more than I have...
I agree with you that it's spooky. I think forcing people to repress themselves and hate themselves is one of the worst things Christianity has done.

Yes and they are very unhappy people living as they are not and faking an interest in something that disgusts them. How is this helpful is what I want to know. We no longer need to be fruitful and multiply, (there are tons of people with no access to birth control) so I see no biblical premise for the continued forbidding of homosexuality.
I would bet that many of these latent homosexuals don't even know themselves that they are gay, they deny it for fear of damnation. How sad that must be for them.
How hard on their families in 20 years when the homosexual can no longer deny who they are? My heart goes out to those afraid.

If there are people out there denying who they KNOW they are because some book written by MEN and translated by MEN hundreds of times who have shaped it into their personal beliefs or prevalent beliefs in their area at the time of translation, I feel really sorry for them. No one should ever have to deny who they are...it's painful for them and for those around them in the end.
Religion controls...that's what it does...and it's sad that some people would rather adhere to what they are told are the laws of a higher power then live happily as the people they were CREATED to be.

Everyone is'nt born bisexual & our culture does'nt influence that either.People are born that way it's not a choice like so many ignorant people think.Thats a scientific fact. That ignorance is what's really scary. For the record I'm straight as they come & I have a few "gay" female friends.

What is wrong with conforming to laws? Have you ever tried defying the law of gravity by jumping off a tall building (w/o parachute)? Or, try this less deadly one--don't stop at red light and just speed off. See what would happen.
These illustrations clearly indicate that we have to follow laws--including ( and the most important ones) God's laws.

You're talking about the percentage of christians that are gay but are in denial because of their doctrine. Sure, these are well-established ... some claim they've been 'cured' but that's like saying someone has been cured of their 'heterosexuality'. The havoc this reaks on the psychological person is devastating; let's not add to the fire by trying to attack them for it.

It happens all the time.
Why do you think there are so many people who "turn" gay in their 40's and 50's. They spent their entire youth living as a straight person because people told him he had to.
I did it until I was 21. They really convinced me that if I didn't do gay things I wouldn't be gay. They really convinced me that if I did straight things, I wouldn't be gay. They really convinced me that if i tried hard enough, prayed enough, read my bible enough, and dated girls enough, I wouldn't be gay.
They were wrong. I was wrong to believe them.
Yes, there are christians who are heterosexual ONLY because they think the bible requires them to be. It won't last forever.
