Interesting questions -I don't claim to be an authority on Christianity or any religion for that matter (I have read several of the big religious texts), but I don't think that Christian believe that life is pre-determined in any way, shape or form. If you are referring to the book of revelation then I think you will need to view that within the context it was written i.e. by a fallible human, using a limited language trying to express and describe powerful images and sensations he felt.
I have no idea where you got your date of 12/8/2012 so I can't really deal with that at all, but I don't think it is described as an attack but more as a seduction of people - the battle later described is between those who are seduced by the beauty and easy comfort of the devil's ways and those who remain fixed in the reality of hard work and mutual respect. The period preceding this 'battle' is necessary for the battle to occur, and the remains of the battle, when the prepared are saved and the lazy perish leaves a world filled with hard working, and mutually respectful people, who help and look out for each other and the mutual good. Some may interpret this as a Utopian Heavenly idea of society.

Aren't movies predetermined? And yet people watch them. So predetermination is hardly an argument for not living. Though people who think their life is predetermined, need some serious help and motivation.

And Jesus is NOT returning. In the bible, he said 'this generation will not pass before the Son of Man returns'. And yet pass it did just like so many other generations, so he's clearly not returning.

Jesus was a doomsday prophet predicting armageddon in his own time. See Bart Ehrman's lectures on Christianity for more on this.

Life is not predetermined cause we have choices. If we have choices we determine the way we live our life. For the other part, on August 12, 2012, the Devil wouldn't have a problem the way things are going.

well i dare answer your question who told you life is predetermined and God is coming on august 12, 2012, well that's ridiculous and a stupid idea.
We people are the only one to determine what our lives will be not the bible. The bible is a word from God for us to live by it will not tell what to do.
We have to make our own choices and BTW God already came long time ago and he has been here and never left by our side inside our hearts.

There is no way life is predetermined. I'm faced with choices every day that not only affect my life but the lives of many others and no doubt there are people who make decisions that affect my life...and God doesn't make those decisions, people do. I mean, if God made decisions for people, we wouldn't have a war-mongering bigoted President in the White House, no?

That's the biggest contradiction in the Bible - we all have free will, but god knows everything. Can't have two true sides of a contradiction at the same time, so the Bible must not be 100% accurate. Also, that's just a random date and has no meaning or truth

Hi Justin,
God is a God of love, he will not predermine who will be saved or who will be destroyed. Although he has foreknowledge--the ability to know in advance what will happen--he exercises this in perfect harmony with his sense of justice.

Here are some biblical proofs:
(1) We can choose life or death. (Deut 30:19)
(2) We can work out our own salvation. ( John 3:16; 36; Philippians 2:12)

Re. God's coming, no one knows it not even Jesus. ( Matthew 26:36) He is coming just like a thief in the night.

You must realize what god was created for and that was long before Mosses was born. It's so the common people can live with themselves for serving the rich for such a small return, you created the first God was it not a priest and kings, surly these people were not poor
