Theism means religion. A-theism is the opposite of that. That's like saying you are a religious secularist. It is an oxymoron. You have a religion of no religion which doesn't make any sense. I'm an atheist too. I'd join your little congregation, but you just don't have the gusto. You lack the moxy! Besides, where's the snakes? Every good religion plays with snakes. Bogus!

Everything can be made into a religion - atheism, science, christianity, etc. Whenever we rigidly attach ourselves to our opinions and notions and distance ourselves from others in dialogue with this, we're being rigid and engaging in the negative aspects of 'religious thinking'. On the other hand, everything can be used in the opposite way -- with christianity, atheism, science, etc. being used as a context -- a fluid, flexible context -- whose concepts can be used to ask questions and investigate, all with an open mind and not trying to dictate the outcome.

I'm not an athiest, but I agree with you that athiesm is a religion because it reflects your beliefs concerning God.
Since you consider athiesm to be a religion, remember that means you must follow the rules concerning religion. For example, no mention of your religion in government places, schools, etc.

Atheism is not a religion, it is the fact that you choose not to believe there is a higher power or any god... Atheism is a non-religion actually.

Atheism, like all dogma's, generate failure. And it's always the devotee's fault. Most converts fall short of perfection, and often lapse, falling prey to their own base desire to worship.

I'm an atheist. I'm not showy about it anymore. I've found peace in the laws of physics; I seek comfort in quantum mechanics.
