SIMPLE. BECAUSE EVERYBODY NEEDS SOMEBODY, A COMPANION/FRIEND WHO LOVES THEM UNCONDITIONALLY.

Because it is a deep and much needed desire.
There are times when the "in love" feeling goes away but you are left with something much deeper and meaningful.
I am still in love with my H after 20 years.
There have been many times of heartache, and other things but he is my other half.
It is hard work but totally worth it.

well, for 1st question: searching, is because society says you are not normal if you dont get married or have someone in your life. so we search for that person to love so not to be called, not normal. everyone wants to be normal. like everyone else.

your 2nd question: look at your grandparents and other people that have been married and happy for 80yr. and maybe ask them if it was worth it.
