Nothing!
The seers say that we're all divine beings...every one has origin from the same source called god. Some people try to 'be' holy...in an attempt to be something different...How can we be different from what we already are. But who or what are we? Both the saint and the sinner are manifestations in this supposedly 'divine' play....I remember a story of the realized king Janak who is approached by a renunciate ....cant write the whole story...you may find it on the web

How they live there life. To begin a holy person loves God and treats others as he would himself. Such a person would also usually be: well versed in scripture, help the needy, pray often, attend religious services often, be full of wisdom, be worried more about the hereafter than this life and be very humble.

The word “holy” has been defined as being “1. . . . associated with a divine power; sacred. 2. Regarded with or worthy of worship or veneration . . . 3. Living according to a strict or highly moral religious or spiritual system . . . 4. Specified or set apart for a religious purpose.” In the Biblical context, holiness means “religious cleanness or purity; sacredness.” According to the Bible reference work Insight on the Scriptures, “the original Hebrew [word] qo′dhesh conveys the thought of separateness, exclusiveness, or sanctification to God, . . . a state of being set aside to the service of God.
MOST of the major religions of the world have those whom they consider to be holy. Mother Teresa of Indian fame is often viewed as holy because of her dedication to the poor. The pope is called the “Holy Father.”
It follows that if a person is genuinely holy, he will pursue a course of holiness, cleanness, and moral uprightness. Christians are admonished to present their bodies to God as a sacrifice that is holy, just as acceptable sacrifices presented at the ancient sanctuary were holy. (Ro 12:1) Holiness in conduct is a command: “In accord with the Holy One who called you, do you also become holy yourselves in all your conduct, because it is written: ‘You must be holy, because I am holy.’”—1Pe 1:15, 16.

Only God is Holy we can only hope to get closer to it by serving him and keeping our lives pure

To stay close to and follow God. Job was a good example of this. God called him a friend.
Jesus was the best example of a sinless man. Some say it was because he was a God, but he wasn't when he walked the earth as Mary's son. He was given A "God status" when he gave up his earthly life for us.
