There might not have been ten righteous people in the world at that time. Abe being one, and maybe his wife...ok...through in Lot, and what was left of his family...still not even close...
The point is, one good family can change a town. And when any community makes it difficult to raise a righteous family, they are in fact headed for a down-fall.

Well, you have it half right- unfortunately there are a lot of so called Christians out there who would be trying to make themselves God or at the very least equal to God.
Yes Abraham asked if there could be found 10 righteous people? Did this mean homosexuals? Was EVERY person living in Sodom a homosexual? probably not- there were probably many who felt this was an acceptable lifestyle or were walking in some other sexual perversion. He was asking if there was anyone who respected and desired ot obey the laws of God.
Does God "hate " homosexuals? No more than he would "hate adulterers , theives, liars, etc.
Homosexuality is an abomination but God does not HATE the homosexual- otherwise there would be no hope for them. Just as with any other sin, God loves the sinner and desires to see them turn away from their sin, receive salvation, be redeemed to live a righteous life. If God hated us, we would all be doomed.
I know there are those who call themselves christians that make it really really hard for others but I wish that non christians would stop going around saying christians hate homosexuals or they believe that God hates them or whatever. God hates the sin, and it wont be tolerated- God hates all sin, none of us are any better than the other- but He does love us and has made a way for us all to be released from the bondage of it and walk in freedom and blessing!

God doesn't hate homosexuals. What God hates is the act of homosexuality. Homosexuality is a sin, and like all sins, separates us from God.
I'm going to say that it wasn't just the act of homosexuality that brought judgment upon Sodom. It was the wide spread practice throughout the whole city, and also the general acceptance by the people. Homosexuality permeated every facet of their lives. It's sort of like today with us. Homosexuality is said to be just a life choice; partners are given benefits in insurance or at work; kids in school are being taught there's nothing wrong in this choice; TV programs are based around homosexuals.
If we, as a society give wide acceptance to homosexuality, and not consider it a sin, we too, as a society, may face the wrath of a Holy God.

Your question is biblical, so it needs biblical answer.
According to the Bible, God does not change, and so with his laws.
Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:27; 1Corinthians 6:9--all of these express Godly indignation towards homosexuality.
God though is patient. He is still waiting for some of these to turn back. But, his patience has limits. He will soon destroy those unrepentant ones, the same way he destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.

God states very plainly that what we call Homosexuality is an abomination.
Therefore a righteous Gay person is an oxymoron.
If not then GOD has changed HIS mind and we all could be in trouble.
What if HE changes HIS mind about John 3:16?

When the Scriptures say righteous,it wasn't referring to homosexuals.Jehovah views the act of homosexuality as a detestable thing. So it would not have been homosexuals who Abraham would have been referring to,even though the city was known for its immoral practises such as homosexuality.

God doesn't have the ability to "hate" anything. I feel that the feelings ascribed in the bible are for human understanding, and not to be taken literally. Would a just God really get 'angry' or 'jealous' or 'sad' or even 'happy' for that matter?
