Just a few Bible examples, God destroys Sodom cause of the homosexual behavior, Leviticus has laws against homosexual Behavior, 18.22 comes to mind, um, what else, Romans 1 is a favorite, Luke has a part where Jesus exorcises demons from Mary Magdaline for being sexually immorral. Last chapter of Revelation (ITS NOT REVELATIONS PEOPLE) has a verse about the sexually immorral not getting into heaven.

Is this some of the reasons why some not all Christians don't like homosexuals?

People who hate don't always need a reason to hate. I don't think it's because of the Bible, I would say it's because of a defect in their own hearts. And maybe because they've never really experienced the forgiveness of God for themselves, so they don't know how to deal with others they may see in sin...no matter what the sin is.

The gay population very low percentage less than 10% would be my generous guess more like 5% probably.

What has happened in the last half-century is a world-wide sexual revolution. It is not only gays who have come out of the closet and loudly announced their presence, heterosexual men and women are now taught even in school that regular sexual expression with any number of partners is normal and natural. The importance of marriage and the family as the nucleus for a healthy society, and the Biblical standard of refraining from all sexual expression except within marriage have been thrown by the wayside.

Unfortunately a good many preachers and self-appointed "Christian" moralists have taken it upon themselves to denounce homosexuality and abortion while saying not a word against fornication or adultery. If 5% of the population is actively gay, then it is likely that 20-25% of the population is actively fornicating and sleeping around without benefit of marriage. No mentioned by many preachers these days is the fact that God "hates divorce"--partly because of the life-long damage done to children.

The pulpits of the land are silent about hypocrisy, spiritual pride, self-righteousness, love of money and the pursuit of the American dream of affluence and ease. Blatant worldliness has permeated every level of Christ's church in America today. This goes unmentioned and unnoticed. What about drinking too much, pornography, child and spousal abuse? Sin is not a popular topic in church--unless it can be preached about to outsiders and to the marginalized in society who are not our kind of people. Does the church pray for the lost? Not generally. Is there any sense of urgency anywhere in the church to do everything possible to reach people who do not know Jesus? Not really.

But what is wrong with America today has very little to do with the outspoken public behavior and lobbying by a few militant homosexuals, and their "rights" or even their behavior. Their behavior is unacceptable to God, but that is not the real issue which needs our attention. Our focus needs to be directed elsewhere.

There are six things which the LORD hates,
seven which are an abomination to him:
haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil,
a false witness who breathes out lies, and a man who sows discord among brothers.
(Proverbs 6:16-19)

Christians do not hate homosexuals---they hate homosexuality. God does not hate homosexuals---he hates homosexuality. It is not the person that is hated, it is the sin that God and we hate. A homosexual can be saved, but only if they repent the homosexual lifestyle. This does not mean that they must adopt heterosexual activities, for sexual relations outside of marriage is a sin, which is called fornication. God hates all sin, regardless of its nature. Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed not because of intense homosexual activity, but because of intense sin in general. There was more goingon in these two cities than homosexual activities. Read the account and you will see that God could not find ten righteous people among these two cities. If God could not find ten righteous people in your community, then he probably would destroy it using some natural means. Concerning Leviticus, God established this law to protect the institution of marriage. God intends that sexual relations be between a man and a woman who are married. Any other form of sex is an abomination to the Lord. Romans 1 is a footnote to Leviticus. Concerning your reference to Mary Magdaline in Luke 8:2, would it have been correct for our Lord to leave her afflicted with devils, or to free her from Satan's clutches? Concerning your reference to Revelation chapter 22, as I have already stated God hates sin and no sin can enter into the kingdom of heaven. If this upsets you, then I suggest that you get saved and sin no more. Jesus loves you and he wants you in his kingdom. You get treated the way you act. If you act in the peace and love of God, then you shall be treated that way. If you behave in a riotous, undisciplined manner, then that is the way you shall be treated. God bless you.

Sure. People who take those texts as infallible. But of course, even those people are interpreting, and probably not interpreting correctly. There's a great book by an Episcopal priest, L. William Countryman, called "Dirt, Greed, and Sex" which does exhaustive exegesis of all the New Testament texts. And it's not at all clear that any of them are addressing homosexuality as we understand it. Paul seems to have had male prostitution in mind. As far as general sexual immorality goes, please look at a book by the Lutheran minister Raymond Lawrence: "The Poisoning of Eros." He shows how the basic anti-sex stance of historical Christianity owes much more to Stoicism and other Hellenistic philosophies than to Judaism.

Yes, it's true. Unfortunately, the anti-homosexuality in the Old Testament made it in there because the struggling Jewish tribes wanted to distance themselves (make themselves special) from the pagan practices (which included homosexuality, among other things) and to build up their numbers my mandating procreative sex. 'Romans' re letters from Saul of Tarsus (Paul) to early roman christian communities; Paul was just someone who was a product of his culture and reiterated those elements. If we take all this as fact, then we'd have to accept the notion that cutting our sideburns or wearing clothing made of two different weaves are mortal sins. People project their ego thought systems outward and attribute them to god; when they become written down and worshipped for millenia, it's hard to undo this.

God did not destroy Sodm because they were gay, he destroyed them because they raped people.leviticus doesn't talk about lesbianism. the only verse that any christian could argue holds any relevance today that is about homosexuality is Romans 1.
and the verses that forbid sexual immorality do not automatically mean homosexuality is sexually immoral. there is one place in the new testament that talks about homosexuality and it is in one of the Pauline epistles, Paul put his own opinion in the Bible before, so i think that's what he did then.

are you christian??? cuz if you were you wouldn't be asking this question, first of all not all Christians hate homosexuals we are just disappointed that they are not following the word of god, some or many disgraced, but who cares gay people know its a sin and if they don't want to stop, let it be, cuz when its judgment day they'll regret it, but if they change their ways and ask for forgiveness they might actually enter heaven.

A true Christian will not hate a homosexual.....they will ...'love the person and hate the sin' .....God does not hate the homosexual....he deplores the lifestyle of homosexuality but he still loves the person and sent his Son for them too.

If you look hard enough in the bible you can find reasons to hate anyone or anything if tha'ts your goal. I don't understand a Christian hating anyone. That should be an oxymoron.
