The SAT study book gives you all the information you need to know. The best way to study, though, would be to take lots and lots of practice tests (when I took my first practice test, I got between 600 to 650 for each section - an 1800-1950 total. After ten practice tests over a few months, I raised my scores to 750 per section and my total to 2200).
Of course, it all depends on you. But taking lots of practice tests will definitely help, and it'll increase your chances of getting into college... so why not?

Never in your entire life? Or you mean, never specifically in preparation for the test?
In the former case, I don't think you could pass first grade doing that, let alone the SAT.
In the latter case... let's see, the mathematics section is grade-school math, the verbal section is mostly reading comprehension (again grade-school level) and trivially simple analogies. I don't have any experience with the writing section (took the SAT before they added it), but I imagine it is similarly easy. Long story short, this isn't a test you need to study for at all, let alone take special courses to help you get a good score.

once you're graduating before 2012, maximum faculties will evaluate purely your interpreting and math scores which may be 1120 out of 1600. in spite of the shown fact that, after 2012, faculties will start to look in any respect 3 parts of the SAT which might circulate the perfect score as much as 2400 and make your score 1620. wish i helped.

I never studied for the SAT and I still got over 1400. But I got wonderful grades and school and was well educated to start.
