I think about 80% of the people here don't understand the difference between BBQ and grilling. BBQ is cooking over low, indirect heat. It typically takes hours but, as has been pointed out, the fats cook off and drain away. Grillilng is cooking over direct medium to high heat. Most people grill when they're saying BBQ. Probably because they top off their grilled meat with BBQ sauce. (?) Anyway, prepared correctly BBQ'ed food is 'REALLY good.
cheers,

I have never met anyone who really enjoyed it. My neighbours use a barbeque as an excuse to offend everyone. As soon as I put my clean sheets on the washing line they start burning their old fish heads, pork scratchings and corn cobs.
What is wrong with people?
Why not a nice fruit salad and some ice cream?

I enjoy but not too much. Barbequed food is not very healthy.

Yes, but the trick is to half cook the chicken in the microwave first, then you get chicken cooked on the barbecue that is cooked inside and not too blackened on the outside. And everything else cooks fine. But put the potatoes on before anything else.

Yes I do, provided one doesn't have to wrestle with a paper plate full of rice salad, the chicken is cooked properly, the kebabs not burnt to a cinder and, sir*, sir* ... please, sir*! Plastic knives were NOT made for cutting steak!
To make sure that none of these happen at MY barbecues, *I* do the cooking!
(* PS, I know you're a female Teach but I went to a school where all the staff were called 'Sir' ... male of female!)

'Fraid so!
Some people's are better than others, though. Lots of different food and accompaniments would be ideal. Over cooked packet burgers and chicken legs are pretty revolting, but this shows lack of imagination.
The company can often make a difference, I find. Or how much beer/wine you've had!

I love BBQ'ed food, I live in Spain and eat It regularly, its way too hot to cook in doors, so we tend to cook outside on the BBQ, but we do Mediterranean style, not just meat, but vegetables etc..if cooked correctly it is the best food to eat, its also less fattening as all the fat drains away so ur left with the meat and its not been swimming in fat either, bring it on.

I love it. Why would you not enjoy it? Anything off the grill is better than cooked in the oven if that is what you mean. I really am not crazy about bar-b-q sauce though if that is what you mean.
