If you are referring to a romantic relationship - yes, i truly believe that it can. The key to this situation is that both parties need to participate equally to achieve a win-win situation.
Obviously, the bigger picture is togetherness in person - but an interim scenario can be created to achieve this mass.

very very tough. When the going gets a little rough and you feel lonely, sometimes its easy to put your head on someone's shoulder near you, and its going to end up in an affair.
But there are people who have done it. Plan it. Maybe it will work out.

it can work but it is extremely difficult... i had one for 6 months and it eventually ended because we couldn't be there for eachother enough.... it was a very sad breakup but we are still close friends to this day... and it is 2 yrs later.... both parties need to put in a lot of time and effort and have TRUST and real COMMUNICATION.... it won't work without them

Yes, if you are serious with each other, it is possible! It would take a lot of effort from both of you, though.

It is possible but highly improbable. I had one that lasted for 1 yr.
