For a weight lifting/muscle building session, try one serving of oatmeal with a tablespoon of honey and a piece of fruit cut up in it along with a 1-2 egg omelet with a slice or 2 of turkey (add extra egg whites if you need more filling; not whole eggs).
If you goal is more geared toward a long sustained cardio-vascular session, you may want to skip the turkey or egg and add a slice or 2 of whole grain toast with a fruit spread (not jelly, again it's loaded with sugar!).
If you're looking for a weight loss cardio workout, just go for the cardio plan above, but set your total calories at 1/4 your recommended daily intake for your breakfast.
One cup of coffee and a glass of juice (juice only for the first 2 options) is a good jump start. I personally feel the best after a turkey and cheese sandwich on whole wheat bread with mustard, tomato, and lettuce, but i appreciate many people can't eat something like that for breakfast!

Eating a diet that stresses protein (poultry and fish are best, unless you are a vegetarian and then soy is very good), low glycemic carbohydrates (look up a glycemic index), like apples, or berries or other fruit and good fat (olive oil for cooking, almonds or peanuts for snacking), may provide you the energy you are looking for. Remember to allow about 30-45 minutes before starting your workout.

Protein builds muscle -- you'll want a breakfast that is SATURATED with proetein, but not so saturated with fats or cholesterols, with a good amount of carbohydrates.
Have an egg, half an orange, and an english muffin or toast.

Not a big breakfast, you could have that after. A nice yogurt and banana would work well. Don't eat anything that'll get you full. You could easily start throwing up on the ground.

i have always found toast with peanut butter works best for me. the protein stops your blood sugar level from jumping really high causing a sleepy affect when it drops. ans you get long lasting energy.
if your not a peanut butter person i would simply suggest a breakfast that is high in protein, and relatively low in carbs and fat so you feel energized not lethargic.

Do not eat before the gym if you are trying to burn fat. Eat about 30 min after your workout.
I you are a bodybuilder type, this may not be right for you.

i would keep in mind hydration and blood sugar levels.
i think in terms of greens (chlorophyll).
chlorella is great for that, or wheat grass too! or both.
they are body cleansers too, so start with small doses if you have a standard american diet.
lemon water is what is start my day with (real lemon that is)
half a lemon in 20 oz of water, can add a touch of real maple syrup for taste (lots of minerals in maple).

Either egg white or fruits like orange, kiwi,...
If you have both, take the fruit first and 20mn after take the egg white.
Fruits are full of vitamins and natural sugar where egg whites are full of protein needed for the muscles.
