Mideast fighting in full force. Hezbollah and Lebanon are supported by Iran oil cash. Lebanon also has oil cash to burn. Israel of course is supported by American Tax payers. Hamas is also being attacked in Gaza and in the West Bank of Israel.
Hamas is a islamic terrorist group. Also supported by Iran and some say Syria.
We pay $3 per gallon for gas and the arabs countries use the cash to fund terrorist. We have no leadership in Congress and none in the White House. We need to shut off the flow of cash to the countries that pay for terrorism in the world. Those of you that drive the gas hogs should be very proud that you are paying for the terrorist all over the world. In your view we should give oil rich countries more cash not less.

BTW, how would anyone know if the CIA had a hand in the stew? ?
You do know that it was the CIA that turned the tide of war in Viet-Nam, right?

anavidviewer, you seem to be a big part of the ignorance. None of what you say is truth.
Bush who lies with every word from his mouth would be proud of you. Israel is not lilly white as you say, get your facts right. Turn off FOX and Rush and read some book about Israels record.

Beside a few actual good responses, there is ALOT of ignorance floating around on these question/answer forums.
For those who do not know- Israel did not start this battle, and I am glad they have the guts to fight back. This battle with Lebanon started when Hezbulah made a raid along the Israeli border and kidnapped an Israeli soldier. Unlike here in the USA where we allow our ships to be blown up (the USS Cole), our embassies around the world to be blown up, our citizens kidnapped and killed, etc. before we eventually take action, Israel nips it in the bud by taking action the moment it is needed.
I support Israel 100 percent, and if I were able to be there on the front lines fighting for them, I would.
I do not know why there is such hatred of Jews, but feel it is because there are too many uneducated people in this world who listen to fanatics rather than researching the facts for themselves.
Once again, I support Israel 100 percent and will continue to do so.
And for Selene, get your facts straight. Israel has not killed children in this battle (unless you know something that FoxNews, CNN, NewYorkTimes, etc. doesn't know about yet). However, Hezbulah has bombed an Israeli train station and killed 8 Israelis. Israel is not targeting citizens, unlike Hezbulah and the Palestinians, who ONLY target innocent civilians, just like cowards usually do.

Israel is being a barbarian, as usual
"basically the current stage of what's going on -- there's a lot more -- begins with the Hamas election, back the end of January. Israel and the United States at once announced that they were going to punish the people of Palestine for voting the wrong way in a free election. And the punishment has been severe.
At the same time, it's partly in Gaza, and sort of hidden in a way, but even more extreme in the West Bank, where Olmert announced his annexation program, what’s euphemistically called “convergence” and described here often as a “withdrawal,” but in fact it’s a formalization of the program of annexing the valuable lands, most of the resources, including water, of the West Bank and cantonizing the rest and imprisoning it, since he also announced that Israel would take over the Jordan Valley. Well, that proceeds without extreme violence or nothing much said about it.
Gaza, itself, the latest phase, began on June 24. It was when Israel abducted two Gaza civilians, a doctor and his brother. We don't know their names. You don’t know the names of victims. They were taken to Israel, presumably, and nobody knows their fate. The next day, something happened, which we do know about, a lot. Militants in Gaza, probably Islamic Jihad, abducted an Israeli soldier across the border. That’s Corporal Gilad Shalit. And that's well known; first abduction is not. Then followed the escalation of Israeli attacks on Gaza, which I don’t have to repeat. It’s reported on adequately.
The next stage was Hezbollah's abduction of two Israeli soldiers, they say on the border. Their official reason for this is that they are aiming for prisoner release. There are a few, nobody knows how many. Officially, there are three Lebanese prisoners in Israel. There's allegedly a couple hundred people missing. Who knows where they are?
But the real reason, I think it's generally agreed by analysts, is that -- I’ll read from the Financial Times, which happens to be right in front of me. “The timing and scale of its attack suggest it was partly intended to reduce the pressure on Palestinians by forcing Israel to fight on two fronts simultaneously.” David Hearst, who knows this area well, describes it, I think this morning, as a display of solidarity with suffering people, the clinching impulse."

Situations like these are complicated, but whose side one chooses should be simple. Just ask yourself, do I support those who TARGET civilians, teach hatred to their children, and promulgate the most cut-throat psychotic strain of Islam ever seen? Or do I support a longtime U.S. ally who has given large concessions to their enemy in the interest of peace, and would co-exist with their neighbors peacefully if given the opportunity?
The choice is clear to me, yet so many people get confused when they choose moral relativism over right and wrong. Is Israel 100% right, absolutely not. No country is-because no human is. But if you still are not convinced that you should be supporting Israel, ask yourself this question:
If you lived in a city in the middle east and could pick your neighbors, who would you choose: Hamas and Hezbollah or members of the Israeli military?
Think long and hard about that question, do some research on each group if necessary, and a clear answer will begin to emerge.

No in my opinion Israel has no right to exist as it does today. Think about it what we call Israel today was Palestine 60yrs ago.
The British stole it from the Palestinians, then gave it to a bunch of European born Jews that had no rights to that land. Now the Palestinians have been oppressed and forced from their own country into poverty and exile. Israel has even gone so far as to attack U.S war ships in the past, anybody ever here of the U.S.S Liberty bombing. Not to mention the fact that Israel has been caught many times selling secret American technology to China. Also here is something to ponder, Israel is the worlds 16th wealthiest country, yet they receive over 30% of foreign aid paid out annually by the U.S. So I think the U.S should give the finger to Israel and tell them their all on their own.
P.S nobody try the anti-Semitic crap with me as I am not, I hate that defense its playing the race card, anytime somebody criticizes Israel on T.V, or Radio the first words out of Israeli advocates is "oh well you sound like an anti-Semite" it has nothing to do with race or religion and everything to do with disliking a immoral, and corrupt government.

Partially supportive. I believe that the Israelites have their right to call a place their country, so they won't have to wander around on the earth. And then I don't know why the Lebanonese kidnapped two Israelite soldiers in the first place when they knew very well such an act would only provoke the Israelite govenment and its people and the consequences they would have to face. I think they are either dumb or crazy. Why can't they leave the Israelites alone?

For years on a daily basis Hummas has fired rockets in to Israel, and you sorry people still dont think Israel should defend its self.
If someone was shooting into your house and kidnapping your family, would you go outside to talk with the people who hate you and want you dead.
" Lets talk" please get real.

Hello.
I do support Israel because I was born there and I lived there for eight long years. I am really scared if something bad will happen there, Iraq is a very powerful country, it can bomb Israel hard.
If you support Israel too vote me as your best answer!

Yes, and no.
I support Israels right to exist and defend herself, but I can't support her continued policy of occupation, settlement of lands she does not own, suppresion of all palestinians and constant aggresion towards ALL her neighbors.
I"m reading the news right now and I see no hope for the situation. Neither side will admit fault or back down. WWIII, here we come.
Israel whines that Hezbollah is using Iranian made weapons and being trained by Syria. All the while they attack with their US made tanks, missles and helicoptors piloted by ex US and european soldiers who now serve in the Israeli army.
Both sides rely heavily on their friends who have their own interests at heart.
Israel says that there was an attack on their northern border, but they fail to mention that the northern border they speak of is actually INSIDE Lebannon and is land taken by military force that they have occupyed for 32 years now.
Hezbollah says they are freedom fighters fighting oppression. Israel says they are terrorists. Both are right.
I grow tired of the situation. Both sides are at fault. Israel is aggresive and arrogant and believe the land was given them by God to rule over as they see fit. The Arabs believe the land was stolen from them during WWII and they want it back.
Israel reminds us of the holocaust perpetuated against jews by Germany, and says it's aggresion is justified to make sure that never happens again, all the while perpetuating it's own holocaust against the palestinians.
Both sides believe they are the righteous. Neither side is willing to aquiece they may be wrong in even the slightest.
War is inevitable at this point. And the sad part is that Israel is too small to win a war against Egypt, Syria, Iran, Jordan and any other Arab states who choose to join the fight. the US will have to defend her or she will be wiped from the Earth.
It's time to stop supporting all of them. Make them sit down and talk it out. Make Israel pull back from it's occupied territories, free it's hostages and start over. Make Hamas do the same.
As I saw in the UN Security council meeting on Friday, the entire world is against both sides in this conflict. Perhaps it's time for all of us to say ENOUGH, the next one that throws a punch gets attacked by the entire freaking world.
KNOCK it off. "An eye for an eye" doesn't work. You guys have proved that over and over and over and over and over and over. Grow up, it's time to act like adults, put down your fists and work out your problems.
