It all depends. I think early on girls learn to not date guys that are lots better looking, etc. than they are so they're not so crushed when the inevitable happens. Otherwise, it all depends on the two individuals, but I think most people are going to say the girl gets over it quicker. Possible, since the girls are usually the one calling it off. They have a head start on mentally preparing for it. I think the one doing the breaking-up is normally the one that's going to get over it quicker.

I never really had this experience. My significant other and I were together until he died. But I can say just from experience in life that the person who wanted out of the relationship will obviously get over a break up sooner than the one who didn't. That's only common sense....Makes no difference what gender you are. One is just as sensitive as the other when it comes to true love........

I have to agree with Billythekid. Except I think he has it backwards. The one who loves more is less likey to be the one who gets over it quicker.

it is ahrd to say, after a break up i felt upset and lost for a while longer than the girl. sometimes though it is the girl that is the better half of the relationship, for example the girl in your opinion may satisfy you in every way whereas the guy may not satisfy the girl at every level. what i mean is it sometimes takes the boy longer and sometimes takes the girl longer.

Males get over a break up sooner in my opinion. I think that women form a more emotional attachment in a relationship, which always makes it harder to move on.

Whoever gets over it faster is the one that completely moves on.
If both are hanging on in some way, then neither have quite gotten over it.

Not a gender thing it's a person, or circumstance thing. Who breaks up with who, who is less involved, why the breakup, lots of stuff.

i think girls do as we get to the point where we say to our self 'just another b*****d..let's try again' whereas guys seem to get completely against women for the rest of their lives and take it all so personally and think only they get hurt.
