OK this is weird..?

my cat likes onion... is this normal? does anyone else have a cat who likes onion? :S

Cats should not eat onions. I read in Cat Fancy magazine not to give people baby food to a cat as a treat because it sometimes contain onion powder.
Cats will try a lot of weird things just because they are curious. You never know what one cat will get a hankering for. I have been told that cats can't taste sweet things but had a cat once that loved peaches.
Onion is not good for cats. They do say that if you put garlic in your cat's food, it will make her taste bad to fleas. Old folktale.

I don't think so. My mother-in-laws cats love to eat the onion greens that stick out of her indoor garden. I think the cats pretend it is grass and it helps with digestion. They will eat the grass too, but the gas they produce when they eat the onion greens is deadly.

I don't think your cat is weird.

Cats often like weird foods (one of mine eats hummus and pesto), but onions are pretty bad for them. Put your onions somewhere cat-proof.

my cat eats onions when its cooked with meat, i thought it was wierd at first, but they seem to like it cooked, its not good for them though, it'll mess up their intestinal tract
