When I drink Turkish coffee, I can actually go to sleep afterward. However, I can't drink regular coffee after 3pm or I can't sleep at night.

If Turkish coffee contains the actual coffee bean in it (ground to a powder of course), and regular coffee is filtered, why is it then that the Turkish stuff, especially being much stronger than the regular stuff, doesn't keep me awake like the regular stuff?

Things that make you go hmmmmmm.

Proper Turkish coffee is made from 100 per cent Arabica, often with the addition of cardamon. Arabica has about 1/3 less caffeine and better flavor than the Robusta that dominates American blends.

It is ground ultra-fine and brewed by infusion, like tea.

For their caffeine kick, Turks use tea, not coffee.

I guess the answer would be Turkish coffee had less caffeine since you can to to sleep but when you drunk regular coffee you cant sleep. I think you should be able to figure out what to do. Stop drinking reg. coffee and only drink Turkish coffer. Or by decaf regular coffee.

Whatever you do, DO NOT BREW IT IN YOUR REGULAR BREWER, you will have a BIG mess. The fine grind will clog the pores of the brew basket and the result is overflow with grounds and HOT coffee everywhere! I had to get that out of the way first so to avoid a potentially hazardous situation. To brew it mix a few TBS in a cup mixed up with boiling water and allowed to sit for a short time to allow the mixture to brew, and the grounds to settle. You drink it as is, grounds and all. Not my thing, but you might like the added crunchies at the bottom of your cup. It will provide you with a very stimulating jolt, those with high blood pressure, or on certain medication should not consume this amount of caffeine all at once.
