I tried to use winrar to compress files but i got as a result (after compression) file with the same size, how can increase the compression rate?
I've used the maximum compression level but the problem is the same.
Thank you.

It depends on what you are trying to compress, if it is video then you will get very little compression because video such as AVI and Mpeg and others are already highly compressed. If you wish to send this file over the Internet and the file is too large to email you can use a program such as HJSplit to cut the file into smaller pieces to achieve this goal. Get the free HJSplit program from the link provided below. Good luck!

right click on the file(s) that you want to compress, click on "add to archive". Select "best" under "compression method". Some files types, however, are already compressed, like MP3's. So you can't make them much smaller.

Hi.

No one has asked *why* you're trying to compress whatever it is, but I'll take a wild guess: it's too small to fit to cd and you don't have a dvd burner, right?

How about this: why struggle to compress what you could merely split and burn to two cds?
