It's very difficult to get US citizenship or even work permits etc.

The US government run the 'Green Card Lottery' scheme that randomly selects some people to be granted citizenship, but the odds of getting in this way aren't good.

You could try talking to the US embassy in London, but they're usually not very helpful on these sorts of issues (their job isn't to encourage people to live there).

Your best bet is to talk to an immigration lawyer as they will be better placed to help you. Try the Yellow Pages.

We really dont need anymore people to come into our country, take our jobs, and attempt to speak our language POORLY. I see way too many people come here that cant do simple things like order a cup of coffee but yet they want to work here. You know what you should do? get a real job and help out your own country! If more poverse countries would improve themselves, less people would want to come here. No the US isnt going down hill either. Im 20 years old and i make 1500 a month SELLING COFFEE! Our economy is great and in 2 years, GW Bush will be out and McCain will be in. The differnce is, we will have so many immigration laws that not only will you not be able to move here, all of your cousins will get sent back where they came from. Good riddence.

Oh, forget it! US is not what it used to be-the laws are xenophobic, if you come on a work visa you might not be able to renew it, let alone get resident status(after 5 years of legal resident status thay might give you citizenship).
I've been here for 5 years, educated, speak English well, have no criminal record, but still no papers, let alone resident status.
Don't come to US, it's going down anyway.

It is very difficult to get a visa to work in the US. You must have already found an employer who wants to hire you, and will petition for you either an a non-immigrant or as an immigrant. It's a long and complex process.

I'll say that you should try Austrailia first. Like the first anwerer, Our country is going to Sh**, and England is being taken over by Muslim extremists. I still think that Austrailia is OK. They have a great music scene too.
