I would suggest you contact an allergy medical doctor in your area to pursue these symptoms and find other foods you may be allergic to before you get a reaction to an unknown offending food.

How do you know you are allergic to seafood? What symptoms do you have once you eat seafood? Is it fish or shellfish? If you get severe reaction such as difficulty breathing, or swelling of the mouth or face then you should avoid whatever the allergen is and have an epi pen ready. However, if you get a mild rash, nausea, or stomach ache, you may not be allergic to it at all. You should get your self tested. Some people get desensitized to the allergen as well, I did to shellfish. Also you may be allergic to shrimp but not to oyster.

Seafood is an extremely dangerous allergy. Your throat can swell up and you could lack oxygen, therefore causing permanent brain damage or even death. Even if someone touches you after touching seafood and not washing their hands, you can have a reaction. Or, at restaurants, if you order chicken, be sure they don't cook that in the same oil as their fish because you can have a reaction. I would always carry an epi-pen (epinephrine) which speeds up the body systems and can save your life, or fast melting benadryl for the similar effect. Talk to your doc about the dangers and obtaining an epi-pen.

Can you eat grapes, also? This could be an allergy to bisulfites.
They coat seafood in something called Bisulfites, to keep them from spoiling, this is done on the boat as they are pulled in.
An allergy to Sodium Metabisulfite can be potentially fatal, causing you to stop breathing (which isn't fun for you, or your family because your lips turn blue, and you start to drool as the air is cut off) and there is a high chance of death.
Now, I have had to say this to my mom also, when she looks at a shrimp, or grape, or something else we know has bisulfites
Is it worth it?
And you should come to the conclusion that breathing is more fun than not.

DON'T try it ! If the allergist told you , you are allergic to seafood; even a taste can cause your throat to close up on you !
I am allergic to mangos. At work I had some fruit salad off of the salad bar; and immediately started having problems....the stuff didn't have any PIECES of mango in it, ( I looked ) but had a tiny bit of mango juice along with the pineapple juice it was canned with. I didn't even have time to wait on an ambulance ! A co-worker threw me in the car, and I barely made the ER in time.
DON'T tempt fate...it's NOT worth it.

Seafood (sp)
Then expect to have a reaction. It depends on to what extent your'e allergic. Some people have a mild reaction...itching and hives. Some people can have a severe reaction that includes severe hives and swelling and shock. Some die. So why is it so worth it to eat seafood when you know your's allergic? Are you just trying to get attention?

Don't try it. At best, you'll be miserable. At worst, you could get swelling in your throat that will kill you.
Not that I blame you: I'm fond of seafood myself. But while I have heard of people getting over chocolate allergies, I've never heard the same of seafood.

Unfortunately, yes. If you try it could kill you. Sometimes you "grow out" of certain allergies. Seafood is one of the least chance for that.
