Because you probably got a 5.0 that the 7.5 rear end wasn't made for that torque....
All the 7.5 were made for were rangers and mustangs running anemic 4 cyl and 6 cyl. grocery getter engines. The rangers even went to an 8.8 rear end if you bought a 4x4 v6 model, because the rear end wasn't made for holding to abuse.
Go find a 8.8 or drop a 9 inch in the rear if you like smoking them... You're lucky that one survived 4 months...

In 85 I believe they went with the 8.8. My 84 GT had the 7.5 and it blew once i did mods. I picked up a rebuilt 8.8 from a rearend shop with 355 gears and it rocked. Why you would let someone swap your rearend out to an inferior one is not right. Tell him to buy you one because he and you know darn well that a 7.5 is not what goes in. That was pretty crappy of him if you ask me. Oh and don't get me started on the crappy bowtie 305 and it's weak rearend...

They are weak because they are smaller, thats the reason they made the 8.8, they normally brake the spider gears or pin. They use the same axles as the 8.8, the carrier is just weak.

The 7.5 was made for the 4 and six cyl motors, lighter weight for them. 8.8 for sport models with the big motors.

could be that a 20 year old car with a second or perhaps third hand diff, just can't take a clutch dropper like you at its advanced age.
Try to go easy on it or buy a car that can handel your smoke tyre style of driving.

Your car is possessed with the soul of an ancient chinese warlord. Take it out into the country and leave it. If you sign the title and leave it on the seat, all your problems will disappear!!!
