Every day, we hear about violence and persecution. People always say it's the fault of religion, but, you don't hear about it happening in the USA.
Only in the USA could Muslims destroy two skyscrapers full of people and several airplanes, and aside from the immediate aftershock among people, there is still tolerance. The Muslims live and prosper in the USA.
Sure, there are criminals everywhere, and some of them have victimized a few Muslims, put compared to the crime rate overall, it is insignificant.
On the other hand, look at the other countries of the world. If someone just posts a cartoon negative to Islam, Muslims are killing people left and right. In Saudi Arabia, Iran, Jordan, etc, you can't be a Christian or you will be persecuted or killed. Look at Afghanistan, the guy converts to Christianity, and he is sentenced to death. China has thousands of people in prisons right now just for having a religion. And on and on it goes.
But in the USA, our constitution guarantees you the right to practice your religion, regardless of how hateful or violent it is. Maybe that's too much tolerance, but that's the way it is.
So that is the answer to your question. In a country where Muslims call you infidel and the great Satan, and promise that one day we will all bow to Mecca, yet we allow them to come here and work and practice their religion freely. It may lead to our destruction, but yes, the USA is the country that tolerates all religions.

INDIA. Its the only country in the world which respects all the religions and that includes Muslim (Islam) as well.
Do you know that there are more Muslims in INDIA then in Pakistan or any other country.
INDIA has people from each and every religion.
INDIA had given place to Parsis who were thrown out of their land.
Truly INDIA is one of the most secular country in the world.

The Norse were probably the best example. Their beliefs in how the Gods interacted with humans made them not only respectful, but also very accepting of other religions. This eventually led to their downfall.
Before their official acceptance of Christianity as a state religion, the Norse welcomed missionaries from many lands. There were Jews, Christians, Muslims, and a number of pagan priests throughout the Norse lands. In fact, several of the scenes from the movie "The Thirteenth Warrior" were taken directly from the diaries of a Muslim missionary. The character Antonio Banderas plays is named for him...
Anyway, as the Viking age progressed, even the raiders who plundered Christian monastaries were open to the idea that Jesus was a god. They simply believed that he was a weaker god than Odin and Thor. Toward the end of their era, the Vikings came to believe that the more peaceful Christ offered a better afterlife than Odin and the Aesir. This thinking by the warrior class of the Norse became popularized as a mechanism to further Christianity.
One of the primary causes of this was the raiding in Ireland. The Norse were impressed by Brian of Boruma, a Christian king who also followed older pagan practices. Brian Boru was a skilled warrior with a classical education in war. His prowess on the battlefield helped him defeat the Vikings time and time again. The Norse were so taken with his abilities as a leader that he is even mentioned prominently in Njals Saga, a Norse morality tale.
The Viking raiders mistakenly believed that Brians skilled leadership was due to his faith in the "White Christ". As their faith in the old gods faded, Christianity was on the rise in their homelands. After Brians death, they returned home to a world that was changing in favor of the god of their esteemed enemy.
The last of the Norse sagas takes place about 75 years after the death of Brian Boru. At that time, Christianity was the dominat religion for all of the Norse people.
Ironicly, the Norse were one of the few cultures that were not converted to Christianity at the point of a sword. They assimilated it into their culture over the span of several decades. Even after the official conversion to Christianity as a state religion, pagan practices flourished for several more decades.
Asatru (worship of the Aesir) is still practiced in Denmark, Iceland, Scandinavia, and Norway as an accepted religion, but Christian based faiths still dominate the religious belief systems there. Muslims, Hindus, Jews and followers of every other concievable religion are welcome there.

It's easier to respect religions when you don't have your own. Believing in a doctrine makes the rest of the world seem a bit stupid. Thats why religion is utterly at odds with humanity.
