If you are in a long term relationship, you might run that risk. You also have the option of emphasizing the true understanding and trust of two people who know each other well. You know the other person's signs and signals. You can experiement with ideas and fantasies and "toys" that you might not consider using with someone you barely know.
It's the time to explore ways of being sexual with each other that you haven't tried yet.
Role playing works for some people - pretend you are in a different situation or are different people.
Be creative - and COMMUNICATE. Good luck and have fun.

'Sex' usually does become rather ordinary...........after a while........which is a very vague time-span based on many variables.

And, since there are at least two participants, one must consider the question from different aspects: has 'IT' become dull/routine for you? Has The Wild Thang become not-so-wild for your partner(s)? Has the fire died down for all of you at the same time and/or separately?

I had a [beautiful female!] Psych Prof who gave me a neat nugget to ponder, a lil something to keep the edge [gawd-damn! she loved to phuck!] ~~ remind yourself that pure, animalistic sex --yes, even bestiality -- on a level 'way below "making love" -- will always remain fiery if you keep telling yourself, "Properly viewed, ALL is lewd!" Think of romping around as being sinful, dirty and........FUN!

(Sex with a condom is like washing your feet with your socks on.)

Show me a fellow who doesn't eat his girl and I will show you a woman I can steal.

Another mental prod, for either/both/all participants is to keep in the back of the mind the thought that this may the last time you will ever have to get your rocks off and/or help your significunt other get off, also.......

The only consideration I personally know of, that has prevented 'sex' from becoming the least bit "ordinary", is so smarmy and mawkish that it's almost embarrassing to mention it. Butt, here cums: [and I know this is corny] if -- IF -- there is truly an all-consuming love, even if it is in only one of you, the sex will probably continue to equal the first time you were ever together.

Not just '*******', not even making love.......but the MEMORY of making love is about the only thing that is truly eternal

Sex is never boring, and if becomes ordinary, then you need to spice it up. You can read books on ideas and what would be mutually agreeable to both of you.

If you are very young, you shouldn't be asking this question, learning about sex is the greatest pleasure on earth.

Sex will get ordinary if you *let* it. That is something you have 100% control over.

It won't get ordinary, if you work at keeping things fresh and alive.
