Depends on the rules of the country, some don't. Check before you fly.

have been peg feeding ( directly into my stomach) for the past six years and the doctors had no hesitation in declaring me totally fit for air travel. I have found even the airlines are very accommodating and have never had a problem. In the event if it disturbs someone ( not that I care ) the ladies on call give me a seat with the drapes drawn so I can sit comfortably and have what I want
Do tell you Dad, there is no need to worry about this apsect as almost all the airlines and staff are very kind and go out of their way to make one as comfortable as possible. .Besides the food that he carries he could also indulge in various juices and other liquids that they serve.
By the way, I do not know if you are aware that all cancer patients get 50% of on all air travel to any part of the world and 75% discount for both the patient as well as one accompanying him. I however do not know if this is applicable to you country. Check it out.

I believe most good airlines will cater to the special needs of passengers, especially those with a handicap or medical disability. I'd ring them and find out. Besides special food, do you want anything else such as a towel or an area of the plane where there's not very many people around.

Since we live in the era of 911 I would be very safe and sure and get a note from your doctor to accompany your fathers food so that there is no misunderstanding and that your father can carry it with him on the plane..my sister has a special breathing machine that she must have with her and she did the same thing as a carry on and there were no problems as she had a note from her doctor (a prescription) so do the same and they will run it through the xray machine..hope this helps

You need to check with the airline and probably the embassy of the country you are going to. Contrary to what some people have said most countries have food importation bans. Particularly against meat and fruit. Most countries have severe penalties for importing even one apple.
These restrictions are aimed at stopping pests and diseases entering the country and in the case of meat of stopping disease that can kill humans and animals so you can understand why they do this.
Hopefully if it is special food in sealed bags medically prescribed then there should be accepted methods of either getting them into the country or being supplied in that country.
Good luck.

Of course you can. There are no rules about taking food on a plane. I wouldn't take a whole bunch into the cabin, but just taking enough for the flight should be fine.

You will be filling MEDA/MEDIF form . FLOW OF SPECIAL DIET ADMINISTERED BY THE DR. In such cases Airline is strict and will not allow any homemade food. However things can be discussed with resevation staff and if u r the escort it will be much more easy.

Yes. When you fly you can take food, drinks, anything edible your heart desires. Think of it as a baby who needs his formula.
