Probably not. Christian dogma is rife with misogyny and bigotry.

Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered. I Peter 3:7

Being treated as the weaker vessel is like being treated as fine china instead of the everyday dishes. It's an honor, not an insult. And any man who cares about God hearing his prayers, would consider the treatment of his wife very important if it affected God's willingness to hear them.

While men have used Christianity to oppress, they have done so much as one would use a scalpel to murder rather than for surgery.

you may not see it but Jesus treated women as equel even though in the Jewish sociaty they had no special place. you need to read the new testiment and see how Jesus protected the woman acused of adultery and the woman at the well he saved. many of his mesages are still missunderstood becouse it was a male sociaty at the time and that is how the bible was written

Judging from your question, you may be a muslim woman. In Christianity, women were never repressed. One of Jesus' disciples was a woman.
It is a pity that muslim women have to go around in their burkas, especially in Iran. The women there are very lovely but they aren't allowed to show themselves to the world. It is shameful.

Who is suppressed? I am just fine and dandy with my femininity and my Catholicism. I have no problem with the males in my world.

Peace of Christ,
