I know of many people who have lived VERY healthy lifestyles and still died of cancer. I guess cancer is cells in the body that go wrong. However, I believe that in cancer sufferers a positive outlook on life helps. I also got to know of a person who was prolonging his life through a macro-biotic diet. I'm afraid I don't know much about it, though, but he was Canadian and his wife and him had gone to a sort of "camp" to learn more about it.

It all depends on how far the cancer has spread. If the cancer was found at an "early" stage with not that much spread then he has a good chance of beating cancer. If found at a late stage the chance goes down BUT there is always a chance of beating cancer even if it is a late stage. If you wanted to know last year my mom was diagnosed with an early case of gallbladder cancer. she had surgery. chemotherapy, radiation. Now there are no signs of cancer anywhere. my mom has a good chance of being cured and she is doin really good now. So good luck, I'll pray for your friend and every cancer patient in the world 2 nite when I got to bed.

Hi, if you are keen on how my stand against cancer came around when I was given up for dead - not once, twice, thrice, four or five times, request you to go into www.rdoc.org.uk. Its a British website and on entering it click on Ananth's Story on the right hand corner of the main page.
I am sure a lot of your questions will be answered.

50-50 But he's got to contract it first?

Though smoking is bad for you it actually does not change the chances on recovery. You have a bigger chance on contracting it but once you have you have the same chance on recovery like anybody else, provided there are no further complications.
