Prevention:
Always have something to eat beforehand, drinking on an empty stomach is a surefire way to a hangover. If you can't get food, at least have an ice-cream or peanuts or something high in fat. Fat helps in the slowing down of the absorption of alcohol.
Make sure you drink plenty of water before, during and after your partying. Dehydration is a contributing factor to a hangover.
Don't mix your alcohol. First of all you risk alcohol poisoning, and mixing alchols (e.g. beer, wine, vodka, whisky, rum, tequila, bourbon) gets you drunk faster.
This sounds wierd, but true, don't drink your drinks thru a straw. You get drunk faster that way, even though it looks all feminine and sweet.
Cure:
Vitamin C helps.
You can drink more. Skipping a long scientific lecture, the alcohol will help you break down the stored alcohol in your body (strange but true.) But when drinking to cure a hangover it should be noted that you shouldn't drink so much it gives you another hangover.
Food helps, even if you don't feel like eating.
Lots of water.
Scientifically speaking, egg-nog should cure you of a hangover quick, because it restores a lot of your body's natural levels (e.g. sugar level).
Otherwise you can try a prairie oyster - 1 egg yolk, dash of worcestershire sauce, black pepper, celery or normal salt, port wine.
Good luck!

Okay...The obvious prevention is to not drink enough to get one in the first place...but probably not the answer you're looking for.
The effect of alcohol on your system is dehydration. Therefore, the best way to reduce the effects of the alcohol is re-hydrate yourself before passing out. Drink 2 to 3 large glasses of water and then, depending on how much you have had to drink the effects should be much less than they would otherwise. I also throw in a couple Advil or Tylenol for good measure before turning in. In 21 years of practice (lots of practice) no matter how much I've had to drink, and being a former Marine sometimes WAY too much, I've yet to ever suffer from a traditional hang-over when I have followed this regimen...
Cheers!

All a hangover is is dehydration. Drink a couple glasses of water before you go to bed, and more in the morning when you wake up. If you wake up during the night at all, have some then too. Never take tylenol within 24 hours of drinking alcohol, it's toxic for your liver.

Drink at least one glass of water with every serving of alcohol all night long. When you get home take 800 mg. of Folic acid, 500-1,000 mg. vitamin C and a B Complex tablet with more water. Stay up until your buzz has faded and get a good night's rest. In the morning take more vitamin C and eat clean, healthy foods (no greasy fries...) Milk thistle is one of the only things known to help clean the liver, take some to try to un-do the damage your drinking has done.
Whatever you do don't take Tylenol or a generic of it. It is known to cause liver damage after drinking. Your liver will treat you well if you take care of yourself.
It sounds like you're a future candidate for a sober/light drinking lifestyle, when you get sick of feeling sick you'll stop doing that to yourself.

Drink LOTS of water. Drink 1 glass of water for every 2 alcoholic drinks. I know that's a drag, but it will definitely help. The next day, eat some carbs (crackers, bread, etc), and drink MORE water. Also, I've heard that taking vitamin B helps...something about it helping your liver process the alcohol and get it out of your system faster. Not too sure about that; you'd better read up on it.

yeah when you are to the limit that you don't want to drink no more drink water and gatorade or some kind of sports drink and right before you go to sleep take some pain killers like advil or something with a tall glass a water you will wake up in the morning still realling like a haangover but it will be a very managable one and then in the moirning have a nice breakfast and continue to drink water all day
alcohol dries up your body so the more water you drink while you are drinking and before you go to sleep will help you to recover in the morning

I always drink 2 - 8oz glasses of water & take 2 asprins right before I go to bed after a night of massive drinking ~ I have never been hung over. The headaches most people suffer from after drinking is from dehydration so replenishing your body with water helps aviod that.
!!Good Luck, Have Fun & Drink One For Me!!

Rule of thumb -
Don't mix types of alcohol. Take an Ibuprofen as you leave to go partying. Take breaks while drinking. Drink plenty of water when you get home and take another Ibuprofen. In the AM, have a cocktail - just ONE. It helps take the edge off.

This is tried and true.
When you are done drinking, make sure to drink allot of water. I mean two large glasses if you can. Then take 2 or 4 aspirins or Excedrin or something similar. Do this BEFORE you go to sleep and you will wake up pretty okay.

Hangovers are caused due to dehydration. Alcohol can dehydrate the body real fast. Make sure you take some other fluids especially water. It may still give you a hangover but not much of it. :)
