After a passage of time nothing remains together, seperation is a fact(law)so the sages"rishis"seers undertake this" tapasya" penance of seperation, since separation is painful, death seperates all hence some cultures say "sa anta"i.e. "sa "that or he she is "anta" finish dead a living dead some say santa pronounced saantaa or saint people have no fear from the corpse(dead body) and that means no desires which many cultures describe it as the cause of pain or trouble desireless means death.Nobody wants to die except the existentialist this in itself is a desire and not willling ,desiring to die is too a desire. Are we playing with words?..

We express ourselves through words, pictures symbols etc.,so some say everything is linguistic analysis or "vyaakarana-aacharyas" grammarians,The point is some voluntary accept death, not because they are sadist or otherwise, but to be in a bliss{aananda}ful stateShould we call dthose who have no desires i.e. Sa-anta some call them "santa" he/she although living is having no desire hence will/does not harm others, pejojple flock to them fjor guidance and advise jobviously not because these sa-anta or santa are sadistic but they can see from; "rishi"meaning seer seeing requires objectivity whichcomes from desirelessness,as a spectator having no motivation.selfish or otherwise.Existentialist say it is courageous to die.but not the desireless being "sa ANTA" OR SANT OR SAINT ,We hope the question pain pleasure ends in death but being here and aloof or separate from; all even ones body"soma" and psyche or mind as good as dead... .

everything you're talking about separates a spiritual death from a physical one. Physical and spiritual are combined here on earth (we are dualed-natured creatures - there's the trick) - and our journey involves the inter-weaving of the two - so naturally one will affect the other.
the issue is - given the information we were left with - how high up the ladder do you - and mankind - want to go?

Yes, you're just playing with words. As a sadist, I can assure you that pain can end in pleasure without death being in the equation.
