That would be Gregory Mendel.... beginning in 1865..Mendel is called the "Father of Genetics" because he did several in-depth studies of pea plants and kept great records, Gregor Mendel was a monk who devoted his life to science. Mendel crossbred plants using classic genetics and noted his research. By crossbreeding, he was able to note the color, shape, length and other characteristics of pea plants and explain how every pea plant generation was made up of similar genes, combined in a variety of ways.

I think it was gregor mendel.
He was called the father of genetics for his study in inheritance of traits in pea plants. He showed that the inheritance of traits followed laws (three laws actually) that were later named in his honour.
