i think the only way to make a long distance relationship work is to have trust and both parties faithful. but i think that you would both have to make a effort to be with other whenever you could.. i personally do not like long distant realionships or a relationship with long haul truck drive either.. i like closer relationship with a person if i really love and care for them... and i admit i have been cheated on before, so i find that i have to really work on the trust part...i think it would be hard for anyone to have a real good long distant relationship myself...phone calls help... but you need to be with them more or it is just like being alone but seeing someone once in a while...i dated a truck driver and he usually got in at least on weekends, then he started wanting to see his family members which would of been ok if he offered to take me with him...so we broke that off cause i wanted to be able to talk to him and see him... so he could not make that commitment so that was that for me...he was paying so much child support he had to work and drive so many miles and to so many different states...and he could take me with him but i do not drive now and that would not be any help to him... and i like to stay home and i work here at the apartments myself...so it did not work out.. but you would have to put a lot of work in a long distant relationship that is for sure...

Communication - as often as possible. Talk about everyday things that have happened, make a 'date' to go see movies around the same time so you can discuss them together. Remind them often that you're thinking of them, or missing them etc. Make the effort to try and see them if possible, if not then just be sure to include them in your life by talking to them and telling them what's been happening while they're not around. Make small talk but the key is communication. If that's not really your thing, then find what is and don't give up on the relationship or in to temptation. Good luck!

It's difficult. A good phone plan helps. I've been with my boyfriend for two years, long distance. We make trips when we can, but it's hard. I have a great phone plan $25 dollars a month, unlimited 24/7. He calls me and lets it ring once, so I know to call him back. Like any relationship, you make the choice to stick it out even when sometimes things aren't how you would want them.

lots of communication! talk everyday! and visit if you can... just remember little details (like special occasions)...

what i like sometimes, is actual letters... i think they are nice and special - handwritten... and tangible, not just IMs and emails...

just make sure you communicate! and if you do get time to spend together, make the most of it!
