no more the 6 ozs. and it can fill them up so they cant get the amount of nutrtion that they need, and it can cause bad weight gain.

Apple Juice, as with all juices, should be given in moderation. Only 4 oz. a day. If it is a particularly hot day, the child should be given water or pedialyte to prevent dehydration. There is a lot of unnecessary sugars in juices. Ask your doctor or, if your on WIC (Woman, Infant, and Children), a nutritionist. Whatever you do do not give juice in a bottle or right before bed. That can cause tooth decay and dental problems.

As long as the apple juice is 100% natural with no added sugar, you can give them as much as they want.
Just make sure that they still eat other healthy stuff. The apple juice can be dessert, that way the kid will already have filled up on the healthy food.
I have 3 very thin kids, and they guzzled apple juice. I never had to stop them, because kids naturally know when to stop eating and drinking. Later in life, we lose this ability, this built-in knowledge of when to stop. Around age 3, I'd start worrying about putting limits on certain types of food. Before that, you don't have to worry about overeating.

2 ounces a day diluted with 2 ounces of water. Apple Juice is the worst for causing diarrhea. Any other juice should be limited to 4 ounces a day as well.

Apple juice is loaded with sugar, and it has very little nutritional value. I would say that 16 oz. a day is probably the highest you should give.
I use to dilute my kids' juice with water. They didn't know the difference. Your child would have to get use to it, but I think it makes a real difference in getting kids to eat a good meal, and it decreases the over all sugar consumption.

It is recommended that children of any age only have 1/2 a glass of juice a day. Even unsweetened juice has an incredible amount of natural sugar in it. 6-8 tsps!!

I'd give them abot 2 sippy cups watered down apple juice a day. Give it to them after a meal because they won't be eating the proper foods, or as much food as they should. Apple juice is good for them though, it has vitamin C, and if you water it down, they get their water too. Milk is even better. You can give them milk as a snack.

Don't give more than about 7 oz. of undiluted juice. Baby needs more milk than juice, because there's way too much sugar in juice. But when you do buy your juice, make sure the label says that it is 100%juice.

I'm not sure the amount per day, but it's better to get them used to plain water when they need a drink. Apple juice contains a lot of sugar, which can help rot teeth and unbalance their nutrition.

Not just apple juice all juices should be limited. Diarrhea could be a problem with too much juice. Water is limitless.
