In what means are you asking if it is a Disabiltiy? Do you mean with filing to get Social security? It would depend on a lot of factors then, if you mean does someone consider you disabilied if you have OCD. I would say no! I have a close friend with OCD and I don't think of her as disabilited at all. No one that know her thinks that. A serve case of OCD might have other issues also and might fall into the disability column. Good luck to you and I hope this answer helped you some. Have a fantastic weekend.

I would think it would depend on if it actually hinders you from work-related production. If you can't do your job because you're afraid to stop moving in a straight line--or whatever other way your OCD manifests itself--then yeah, it's a disability and you should be respectfully compensated for it.

No.
It usually isn't so bad as to keep a person from being able to do their job. It may reflect in the person's ability to perform CERTAIN tasks, depending on what the person's obsession IS but that person can ALWAYS find a job where he would not be confronted with anything that would trigger an episode.
Also, OCD is easily treated once a patient decides to get help for it. It is treatable.
That is why.

Doubtful. Disability according to the government is very difficult to qualify. (my mother has Lou Gehrig's disease and has lost her ability to walk, write, and has much difficulty speaking but STILL does not qualify!) It could be disabling if it interferes severly with your quality of life. Best to get a diagnosis by a qualified psychiatrist and go from there.

No this is not recognised as a disability under the DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) this is because although it can have a devastating impact on daily life you can get treatment
