I'm not a very social guy, so I never hung out with friends or so until eventually they passed me and started drinking, smoking, dating etc, while I stayed home doing kids stuff. I'm 19 years old now and go to the university and noticed how different I am; everybody (even girls) seems to be obsesed with beauty and pleasure (sex), it's not unusual to se a couple making out just for the fun of it, some people spend hours everyday in the homes of their friends, some guys go to bars for one night stands etc. and there is a bunch of people like that (making me the weird guy).
I don't like dating (that'd requiere me to act as something I'm not and maybe liying to a girl)
I'm just waiting for an appropiate scenario to find real love while my peers just want lo get laid (I don't, when horny jerk off). I'm really worried now, I've come to think I'm not manly enough or that I'm too weird, anyway I feel I'm alone and got depressed(really). What do you think? am I the only one in my race?

Where I'm from, we call that a metrosexual. Some men like to pamper themselves a little more than the average men do. Sometimes their habits are very feminine, including their expressions and gestures. Traits of a real man?- Are you saying that your boyfriend, isn't a real man because he isn't conformed to your standards? Don't you think that's a bit of shallow statement? I don't think there is much you need to worry about.. But you could always be open and honest in the relationship you're in, and give him you feelings in a kind, mature fashion. - My advice : If you find yourself still uncomfortable by the way he acts, then maybe the relationship itself isn't for you. - Answer to last question: Do any of you girls have a bf that has some weird, - girly habits? - My older brother is a metrosexual and has many feminine traits. I don't know, but he constantly has girls flocking in his direction. So I guess it all boils down to the relationship preference a girl has. Lol, you kinda remind me of a bit of a older version of myself, lol. I'm not real social, though I do hang out with my best mates occasionally. I don't think you're weird at all, or girly for that matter. Though you may lack experience because you are so withdrawn from everyone, at least you'll have no regrets (like having to tell your future wife you banged 10 different girls in college, or you got SO drunk so many times that you're not even sure what actually happened those nights...get the point?). You might want to start getting a little more interactive with the right type of crowd, but don't worry so much. You still have your whole life ahead of you. You seem like a nice, respectful guy, nothing wrong with that! As for the not liking dating, some people just don't care too much for that scene, it's not uncommon. At least you're not lying to girls and being someone you're not just for a quick shag or two! Don't be so hard on yourself! You sound like a pretty decent guy (something this world could use more of, lol!).

No you're not. You're just introverted, which is perfectly normal. I know of many people who are just like you, perfectly happy to be on their own and live their own lives.
I'm only a little worried about the "get depressed" part. Perhaps you can cure that by going out with people you are close to once in a while. Give a call to all those people you've clicked with but passed you by... i'm sure they'll be glad to meet up with you for a chat anytime.

No you aren't the only one. I'm not a social butterfly myself and i've done fine. Just be who you are, when you find the right girl that will be just fine with her, not to mention you are right you can't pretend to be something else forever. I think you are doing exactly the right thing by staying true to yourelf. The rest of those people are drinking to get drunk enough to be that sociable person anyway, and thats lame all the way around. I think they are the screwed up ones and you are wayyyyyyyyy ahead of the game because you figured that out already without having to go through all the bs. it seems to me you are very intelligent and wise beyond your years and should be very proud of that.

Hey buddy cheer up. Thinking with your big head ... instead of the the little one can be a good thing. Concentrate on academics ... get your masters or even a doctorate. You'll have plenty of time for the other stuff ... when you're raking in a half mill a year!

you sound like me when i was your age . just wait time is on your side the right girl will hunt you down. my wife took me from 2 girl that i was date ting and she the one that ask me to marriage . so your not alone and your not weird.. your better then all the rest so keep you head up and you will come out in the end .

what you can make freinds on your own so you started drinking it is kind of pethetic and each cigarette you smoke you lose a little bit of your life no seriouse you can lose time of your life with each cigarette so be your self make freind with who you are go talk with your freind if your bored sleepovers work and move to a place like florida i see different color of people there
