Certain breeds of cats and dogs both are more susceptible to disease. Consider this though, if you have an indoor cat, it's never exposed, or exposed very rarely, to whatever "danger" lurks outside, weather biological or predatory. A small dog, in the right setting, could be just as yummy prey to a hungry hunter or injury by accident as a cat would. Also, even diligent cat owners only scoop their cat's littler box once a day, whereas a dog needs to be taken out much more than that, and again depending on where you live, you still have to pick it up every time.

No. Cats are soooooo much easier to take care of than dogs. With both dogs and cats, you have to take them in for routine exams and vaccinations and of course provide food and water and brush them, buth that's about the extent of as far as similarities. Cats are VERY independent and usually do not require much human interaction. If need be, you can leave them for a few days at a time without worry by simply providing enough food, water, and a clean litter box. In addition, most cats learn how to use their litter box from their mother so there is very little training involved.

Unlike cats, dogs are very needy. You need to bathe them (cats generally bathe themselves) on a regular basis. They require LOTS of human interaction. They need to be let outside to bathroom. They need training which is very time consuming, especially if you have a stubborn dog. The list of needs for a dog go on and on.

Both cats and dogs have pros and cons and I love having both around. However, a cat is by far the easier pet.

I actually think the opposite. Dogs are more work then cats. A cat pretty much takes care of itself all you need to do is feed it and play with it once in awhile. A dog needs to be let out, fed, and played with a lot more. They're more personable, but of course I'm a dog lover :)

No they isn't. Cats is easier because them take care of they selves.
Seriously though, dogs are friendlier than cats, offer protection, and are loyal. They don't need to be let out constantly if you get a dog door. Even so, you do have to clean up their poop from the yard, and you do need to take them for walks. My dogs' vet bills have tended to be higher than my cats' bills. It's a trade off. Go with your heart.

Well, I'm a cat lover and have always had cats, so I'm biased, but I think dogs require more in general. They need to be walked every day, you have to scoop up the poo each time and you have to keep them on a leash when they're outside (or have a closed-in place for them to stay) . They need to be bathed. They also need alot of attention, like you need to play with them alot, they crave the attention of the owner more.

Cats mostly take care of themselves. You need to put out some food (I'm sure they eat less than dogs, too) and clean the litter box here and there (and if you get the scoopable litter, it makes that easier). They usually already know to use the litter box when you get them (the mother trains them), so they don't need to be housebroken. They clean themselves, you only need to bathe them if they get really dirty or if they get fleas. They like attention, but don't need it as much or as often as dogs. As for disease and illness, I had 2 cats, one lived for 16 years, the other lived for 19, they needed a few trips to the vet for things in their lifetime, but you will have to do that a couple times (at least) for any pet that lives that long. The downside to cats is that you need to find a good place to put their litter, away from places you spend alot of time in, and they will try to claw your furnture, so get them a cat scratcher, or get them declawed (unless you plan on letting them outside, then you shouldn't because they'll need their claws for defense). and you need to get them spayed/neutered, especially if they're ouside cats.

I think it all depends on how you take care of them. If your cat is an indoor cat, then they shouldn't be exposed to any diseases. My cats never got sick. They went to the bathroom on their own, and generally smelled better than my dogs. With dogs, if you have them indoors, you have to take them out to use the bathroom, and they play in the dirt, and don't clean themselves nearly as well as cats doo. However I wouldn't trade my dogs for anything. It all depends on what kind of person you are.

LOL! i love walking my dog. i love taking care of my dog. my best friend loves playing with her cats. so at the end it all depends on how you are!

False. Most dogs have larger feces(and don't use litter boxes), they also need to be walked and most dogs eat more food than cats, which will cost you more money.
