I have a lock on my bedroom door for privacy. I lock it to be alone. My question is this. If the door is locked WHY jingle the doornob? I even say the door is locked and it jingles more than ever. Jingleing will not make the door open so why do it? what is the point I find it kind of "weird" so how do I handle it?

Sometimes people are in denial, sometimes a doorknob can be worked open, especially on an ill fitting door jam or a flimsy knob, and some people want to be as annoying as possible so you'll get up and open the door just to shut them up.

That's not exactly true. I believe that people should knock when a door is locked, however the right jiggling can open a door, depending on the type of lock. Most would just kick the door in.

I'd think it best to knock, If a door is locked.
