I saw a program on National Geographic several years ago and I believe they traced it to a very secluded place like Nigeria or Ethiopia. The building in which it is housed is rather small, maybe 20' x 20'. It has a high wrought iron type fence around at it is attended to by one high priest/guard 24 hours a day. The guard would not let the documentary staff inside or give them a definite yes that the ark was contained therein. But it was evident that these people had found something and taken it to a safe place and have been guarding it for many years. That's the best I remember. Do a search on the NG website and and see if anything comes up.

I do and I'm not joking but I'm pretty sure in Aramaic scripture it was called The Ark of Testimony. Further more what era Ark are you talking about??? So far there have been 7 eras.

P.S. There are clues or descriptions of where the seventh era Ark is in more places than the last book

The Kabbalistic practitioners. . .alive and well in modern Hasidic Jewry, not to mention advisors to the Hollywood stars. . .believe the Ark never left Jerusalem. . .that it was hidden somewhere and has not been found.

There is also a Masonic ritual that allegedly reinacts the Templar Knights removing the Ark for safekeeping. . .and some believe that it may be in the New World today (Nova Scotia) after having left Europe for Sinclair Castle in Scotland (since the English King was not going to cooperate with the Pope or the French King Phillip, in discipling the Templars, or interfering with certain privileges the Scots were afforded at the time).

Wherever it may be. . .I suspect it is not beneath Trinity Church in downtown NYC!

Btw. . .if there is a clue in Revelation I am not aware of it. . .please share!

Some people think that the son of the Queen of Sheba & Solomon took it back to Sheba or modern - day Ethiopia where it is in a church, guarded ( Upon pain of death ? ) by a monk. Or it might be in Jerusalem under the remains of the Temple in a recessed area. Some people even have it under Golgotha. I'd have to check Revelation again. What IF IT IS IN Washington DC in a warehouse, like at the end of " Raiders " ? ( Just kidding..... !! )

There is a tribe of people in the middle east in Egypt, I think, maybe where Assyria was, any way there is a long held belief in that region that they guard it. Odds are against it but hey?
They are called Bedouin, derived from the Arabic badawī بدوي, a generic name for a desert-dweller, is a term generally applied to Arab nomadic pastoralist groups, who are found throughout most of the desert belt extending from the Atlantic coast of the Sahara via the Western Desert, Sinai, and Negev to the eastern coast of the Arabian desert. It is occasionally used to refer to non-Arab groups as well, notably the Beja of the African coast of the Red Sea.

I think that it is in Ireland.

Jeremiah took it along with the daughters of Zedekiah. He had one marry the King of Spain, and the other- Tara married one of the High Kings of Ireland. There is a village named Tara to this day. The Ark is supposedly buried under a hill with thick iron bars at the entrance. No one is allowed to enter and it is watched.
