Hi everyone,

I am considering rhinoplasty to make my nose more defined, higher, but am hesitant due to stories about surgeries gone wrong, etc. I was wondering if anyone can tell me their experiences with rhinoplasty.
Any advice would be helpful.

Thank you.

Surgeries going wrong are so few and far between so that shouldn't be a consideration really - But what I will say is Rhinoplasty Surgery can only do so much, it's hardly worth putting your body through the trauma of it all really is it?

I had mine done in the 8th grade. Mine was broken and crooked from playing soccer and I had a deviated septum. But he also shaved off some of the length, so now it's perfect. ( check my 360 page lol ) but... it wasn't all that bad, I'd do it over and over again if I could afford it. The day after I woke up, was probably the worst because I was groggy and sick from the anesthesia, and I couldn't breathe out of my nose. They had about 400 yards of gauze up there, and these plastic things. The 3rd day he took out the gauze and the plastic things, and I had to push with my index fingers on the left and right side of my nose everyday for 30 minutes to ensure that it heals straight.
I didn't get a black eye, so I was fortunate. It's not all that risky really. Liposuction is something you'd need to worry about. Rhinoplasty is very effective and it's probably done with the surgeons eyes closed ( not really )it's such a simple procedure. Good luck!

I've had rhinoplasty. It did not hurt at all, felt a little pressurized from the swelling. It took almost a year for the swelling to go down. it isnt very sharp, but looks good.
The key is to find a really reallly good surgeon, who you feel comfortable with. Be very clear of the expectations. The best place is Beverly Hills. Watch the surgery programs, I went to one of the surgeons on TV.
I would do it over and over again. You do feel nauseous after, so make sure you have the right medicationst to combat it.

I underwent the Rhinoplasty recently and I would like to say that I am totally satisfied with the surgery. It seems No pain and a simple surgery if you undergo it near a skilled surgeon.I would suggest you to consider these facts while looking for Rhinoplasty surgeon.

I had a rhinoplasty to downsize an amazingly large honker of a nose. The work turned out very nice.

It helped a lot with my self esteme. But truth be told, if I were in that situation again, I wouldn't do it.

The reason is that all it taught me is that the size of the nose had nothing to do with the way people treat and react to me. The jerks were still jerks. Nice people were still nice people. The only thing that changed is that sometimes it took longer to tell the difference.

Now for your case. There are real risks. It can go wrong. I was lucky. If your reasons for wanting your nose changed are worth the risk of having a scarred and twisted nose, then go for it!!

I would only have rhinoplasty if I had a deviated septum and was having trouble breathing. I would keep the nose God gave me.

Cosmetic Surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges cosmetic surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your cosmetic surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.If you still havent got your surgery done, you are better off getting it done in India.

my cousin got a couple of plastic surgery including rhinoplasty procedures through the forerunners healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is more than very happy with the results.she paid just 30% of what she was quoted in USA.hope this helps
