My female Pom is 1yr old on the 26.I'm minding this male Pom that is aprox 3 mon younger than she is.The owner of him is very iresposible(shouldn't be allowed pets in my eyes)but she does.I have a strong feeling she has deserted him, with me.So i will raise him he is better off with me anyway. My female is very controlling. And i want it to stay that way but im afraid when he gets older it may be opposite.Do you think she will always be in control cause she was here 1st?

Yes, the female dog almost always outranks the male in regards to "who's the boss" especially when they were there first, and generally male dogs will not retaliate against thier better halves but instead give way to even the most humiliating bullying on the part of the female. They may have a few tussles in order to determine who is more dominant in what, like food or toys but it is nothing to worry about as they will work out the social order thamselves.

It is likely that your female pom will remain the alpha dog. Hierarchy are developed early in canine dens. But be cautious that he may challenge her as he ages, the may fight for dominance. It will mostly like occur with out any damage, just be aware that they will need to do this as part of a normal progression.

Mostly with dogs it is 1st in best dressed. So I think the younger dog will be the underdog.
That is ok though because they have a hierachy and it doesn't mean the younger one will suffer.
Am glad you have decided to take the dog on if their owner is not responsible.
Good luck.

Yes, If he is not resisting her dominance and being submissive she is the Alpha and is letting him know this by her controlling behavior. If he is standing up to her then it could go either way depending on who backs down as alpha dog first.

yes she will always be head of the house. even if they mated he would "ask" her for permission. dogs are a matriarchal society. and she is older and she was there first.

no, but if you make sure she is your favourite, she should remain dominant. feed her first, pet her first, and when the other one tries to get between you and her, growl at him. he will get the point very quickly.
