Why is it when Christians do bad things they blame the person, but when Muslims do bad things...?

Throughout history, there have been many christians that have done very bad things to all kinds of people. but that one particular person that does it is the person who is blamed, not christianity.

on the other hand, when muslims do bad things people attack the religion. it must be a bad religion because a muslim killed someone. even if a bunch of muslims do bad things, why is that a reflection of Islam, but not when christians do it?

when a christian man kills someone, it just says in the paper that a man killed someone. his religion isn't even mentioned. if a muslim man kills someone, the headline is going to state that he was a muslim man. why is it that people do that?

even when muslims do bad things and say its for their religion. have there not been christians that have done bad things before and said it was "for their religion"? yes, its just people say that that person is wrong and "real" christians don't believe that stuff (i.e. Hitler's ideology, slavery, etc.)

It's all about perspective...if you are a Christian, to blame Christianity is to blame yourself or say there's something wrong with your beliefs (i.e. that you are capable of doing the same thing), but to blame the whole religion of Islam is to allow yourself to feel superior to a group that is different and has a different set of beliefs...it's a power thing, I guess.

My friend, when Christians do bad things, the religious leaders condemn it. However, when a muslim does the same, there is condemnation from few quarters but most of the religious leaders praise that act. Secondly, we see Christian religious leaders pray for and support non-christians - very unlike the muslim religious leaders. An example. When Iraq was invaded by US forces, many Christian leaders condemned the act. However, for that same act, the local muslim leaders took out a procession and the slogan was "Muslims of Iraq, we are with you". They did not say, "People of Iraq, we are with you" though both communities suffered. A local terrorist act becomes an act of praise in all of muslim world. It is only when the muslims change their trend of thinking and support for only muslim brethren irrespective of his evil deeds, will people start condemning the man and not the religion.

I'm not sure you didn't answered your own question there. I would say exept terrorist there are a whole lot less Muslim killers out there than XIAN . Muslin terrorists just get more attention because they use the Quar'an as an excuse for their crimes. 911 didn't helped the situation either, neither does Bin Laden and his speeches on TV about killing the infidel. Funny thing is, if you read the bible you realize it is a history of war also.

You know, I never thought of it that way before, there have been so-called Christians (radicals) that have killed abortionists in the name of God, and the church group from Topeka Kansas that protests at the funerals of our dead soldiers that also "do it in the name of God". These people are totally confused. Not all Muslims are radicals, nor do they all believe that they need to strap a bomb to their chest, go blow up some infidels and get their virgins. I think that it is truly about the age we live in (post-9/11) People are scared by what they do not know...most have never read the Koran...let alone the bible, but they still make judgements based on fear....

i firmly agree with you.christians have done so much harm to this world in the name of religion .they are responsible for the attrocities on jews ,they killed many ppl saying they perform witch craft and they were responsible for the first crusade.
BUT MUSLIMS are nothing less.the present terrorism phase throughout the world is in the name of JIHAD.christians have enimity with muslims and jews only .but muslims fight with hindus,christians,jews and amoung themselves(shias and sunnis).how can anyone forget the attack on wtc or english railways.Osama is not the only muslim to be blamed .what about AL-queda and many such terrorist organisations all over the world .but when it comes to christians you can blame only few ppl like hitler.i dont think quran teaches to tolerate othrs belief it teaches to kill kafirs i.e non -muslims.

well, in the cases you present, when as christian does a bad thing, he is going against what his beliefs tell them. so you can't blame the relegion if he is not following it in the first place. but when a muslim person, say blows up some people, he is following what his religion says! so in that case, the person, and the religion are to blame.
