The procedure is very simple. All they do is unwind the bands in the back of your teeth and with one simple yank, all the brackets come out along with the bands. I loved that feeling. It was like freedom! When they say "filing down", all it means is that they will be scraping out the cement on your teeth that was used to glue the braces on as well as smoothing out the tip of your teeth. It doesn't hurt, but it's just annoying to sit there listening to them scrape cement off your teeth.
It will feel like they are scratching off your teeth, but don't worry, they'll give you a quick polish after.
Congrats on finishing your braces soon!

I have braces too, and that i have had brackets and bands taken off formerly to have them repositioned, and they did that the way they take the braces off. First, they're going to take out the cord, then they have a device that they pop the brackets off with, and pull the bands off with. It would not damage. you in basic terms experience rigidity. Then, they're going to use a device ta scrape the cement off your tooth, and that would not damage both. And lower back, you'll merely experience rigidity and har an highly nasty noise. And at the same time as they say filing down, they could mean the tops nad bottoms of your tooth, so they're even and comfortable.

They literally "File" your teeth to make them more shapely. It doesnt hurt like it sounds like it would however. To remove the braces they use a liquid (mine tasted lemony) that loosens the glue so the brackets come off. It feels incredible to have braces off, but I think my mouth was a bit tender for a day or so.

i had braces. juss got them off last year. filing down means that they are going to file a certain section of your teeth so that way they can all be evened out. the way they take them off is but opening each bracket, then removing the wire, then pull the brackets off. its not painful at all. you have nothing to worry about. good luck on that beautful smile.
