No. Jesus is speaking the level of faith that a person has. The disciples where questioning why they could not heal the boy. Jesus is indicating that the greater your faith is in Him, the more that you can accomplish with Him. People with great faith have been able to accomplish some great things. You are testing God, because you do not believe in Him, and the Bible does say not to test God. You look to the sky for a miraculous sign, but none will be given accept the sign of Jonah.
A man goes to Kenya to help a child. He is saddened by what he sees. God touches his heart, and he is faithful to Him. He builds an orphanage for the many children who have no parents because of AIDS. This orphanage works so well, that the President of Kenya calls him to see how they can make more orphanages from way he designed his. For the children who are suffering, a mountain has been moved. It was moved by a faith in God, by one man, who had compassion on his heart for others. www.KenyaRelief.org. To believe or not to believe, that is the question, and your choice. God Bless.

I think the "faith can move moutains" phrase in Scripture is more figurative than literal. However, I do believe that the Old Testament and New Testament are One Bible therefore, I believe that the Red Sea actually did part, I believe that water can spontaneously come out of a rock and I believe that Jesus is not dead but has risen to life again. All this I believe by faith, yes, but also because God, having done all of that and more, actually gives two cents about my miserable life and has answered many, many of my prayers.

Not agreed.
The Rock of Ages is a rolling stone.
Would that not be moving a mountain?
All of the things written about Jesus are literal and metaphorical, etc.
There are 14 types of meanings to a Word, and 14 counts of generations.

Jesus spoke in parables -- in figures of speech spoke He. So, when Jesus basically said "ask that a mountain be moved, and it shall", it was a figure of speech, not literal. He spoke in simple terms to denote something with deeper meaning and on a spiritual level. In this case, the mountain represents personal dillema or something that seems hard to overcome. What Jesus was saying there, is that it's not immpossible to overcome a difficult or huge obstacle in your life.

If you don't believe in GOD then why does it matter to you what a Christian believes?
Why would you waste your time here in the Religion and Spirituality section if you don't believe in GOD or a "Religion"?
Your endeavor seems pointless and aimless and, above all, senseless.

Faith is unequivocal , unshaken belief, that what you ask God for in your life ...it is his will for the betterment of your life in it's entirety not yours
