I am so sick of all the hatred perpetuated by people telling others they are going to hell, and going farther by trying to make beliefs into law? Take gay marriage for example, why do you people even care? This is the land of the free, AMERICA, not The United States of Jesus for crying out loud.

I am not saying christians are bad, just that they should keep their beliefs out of american politics, there are too many different beliefs in this country to try to force belief into law..

As for the gay marriage comment...wtf is your problem w/ gay people, destruction of society??? are you kidding?? this country is for EVERYONE.

I believe in God, I just don't see the big deal, most gay people have real relationships that need legal rights....to try to exclude those people from our country is wrong.....and as for the majority wins comment....we'll see who the majority is in the next election :)

Christians should not push their ideas onto others as representatives of Jesus Christ. He as the perfect Person never imposed himself on anyone but always gave assistance to those who voluntarily came to him. Misguided zeal will sometimes overrule good reason, the Spirit of God works through the living example of good deeds.

Why do people who don't believe in God push their values and ideas on everyone else.

Evolution is a theory that can never be proven. And the push to make gay marriages legal.

Since you obviously don't pay close attention, gay marriage has never been legal in this country. You are still free to do what you want. There has never been an effort to make gay marriages illegal, otherwise all homosexuals would have to go to jail. The only thing that has been done is to try to make sure that gay marriage never becomes legal; in ither words, leave things the way they are.

In case you didn't know, every state constitution and the national constitution acknowledge that God does exist and has blessed this country.

Not all Christians force their ideas on people. Jehovah's Witnesses preach their beliefs but they never force it on anyone. They just try their very best to heed Jesus' command to preach the good news to all nations.

They don't tell others they will be going to hell either because they don't believe in that horrible place of torment. It is a contradiction to the main attribute of the true God, which is love.

Most REAL christians tell people about Jesus because they want to share something wonderful that happened to them, that they know can happen to anyone who repents and accepts Jesus as their personal savior. Take me for instance I had gotten to a place where I had made so many mistakes that I felt I could no longer live but did not know where to turn. In utter desperation I cried out to God and I was shocked very shocked when He began to move on my behalf in ways that I could not believe. I never knew He was real.

Im pretty sure that in Christianity spreading the "message" is a big part of being a Christian... Why let it bother you? I agree about keeping anything theological out of legislation, but other than that, I think people let it all get under their skin too much. If it bothers anyone that much, there is obviously some kind of issue with their own spirituality, or something.

How do you separate what you believe from how you vote? If you believe that discrimination is wrong, for example, then you try to pass laws to punish other people who DO discriminate (Thereby forcing them to act more like you.).

Aren't you being a hypocrite? You sound like you just don't like people who vote differently than you.

PS: Perhaps you didn't mean to punish people who discriminate, and I apologize if I jumped to a conclusion. But other people have suggested exactly that.

I am sorry that you have had bad experiences with "Christians", not all are like what you have described. I think that some ppl are so into what they believe and want so bad for their loved ones to be "saved" that they approach it in the wrong way. This is the land of the free so they have the right to protest and so do you. Please try not to generalize all "Christians" as bad! God Bless You...

I'm not a Christian, but I do not want gay marriage to be legal. Gays are free to live together, but I want to keep the tradition of marriage to be exclusive to man and woman. You can whine all you want, but America is a democracy where majority wins. You are a minority in this matter....you lose.

Real Christians provide food for hungry bodies, they don't impose it on them. Real Christians provide truth for those who want it. It is the fragmented evangelicals and non-denominationalists that push or sell religion and try to impose it on everyone. They need to worry about raising up others dignity first, but they don't, because they don't know the Gospel.

Gay unions are destructive to society.

most people with a strong view try to share it and some times get to pushy, most americans are christians and in a democracy the majority rule, but we have standards in our laws to protect minority view points, christians, athiests, communists, capitalists all have strong views and think the world should go there way.
