The New Testament. Most new Christians are encouraged to start out with the book of John. The Old Testament is much longer, but many of the things foretold in the Old Testament come true in the New Testament. The New Testament is about Jesus, so I like it better.

Old Testament all the way. I completely ignore the New Testament which was written about 150-200 years after the death of Jesus. It aggrevates me when people take the New Testament like it was written down as Jesus spoke.

I enjoy studying the Old Testament. Our society has been shaped by it more that we might realize and its images and allusions are evident everywhere in art and literature. In fact, you can't really fully appreciate literature and some kinds of art without a good knowledge of the Old Testament.

the Bible is a whole book that is to be fully followed. You cant pick through pieces you want to believe and follow and discard others. Passages from the Old Testament are found in the new, and vice versa. When you study the doctrines you can't just stick in on section, to learn it fully-you have to research it and study it in all aspects of the bible.

as christians you are suppoused to follow the new testament.the old testament shows you the path that the jewish people followed and can be used as a history lesion. you would have to read the whole of the torah and learn the mystisam of the other part. both of which contain passages that refer to precreation events.like the war in heaven and giants roaming the earth .
