For the bible to be "logically consistent" would require a massive rewrite by _humans_, and of course, it wouldn't be "god's word" then, would it?

Inconsistencies? The bile - oops, bible - has more inconsistencies, contradictions and illogical rules than the English language:

The four "gospels" tell different stories. The creation myth appears twice and has different orders of events. There are three sets of "ten commandments", and all are different. There is no archeological evidence of an "exodus" or any jewish presense in Egypt at the time of Ramses. Bats aren't birds. Rabbits don't chew their cud. The family of "Joseph" has different orders of names (it appears twice).

Etc. etc. etc. One could spend hours pointing out them all.

In all honesty, I wouldn't believe anything written in word, about faith. The bible is filled with hypocracy, contradictions, and whole lot of symbolism. In other words, if it were to be consistant, it wouldn't be the Bible anymore.
