Well, if he actually was hanged to death (becuase it says to be hanged, not that the person actually was), then they wouldn't get any sleep the following night. Unless you consider death a long period of sleep. But that depends on your take on the situation.

Gee, I got hanged in World War 2 and I got a great nights sleep!!!
