All humans, weather Christian or not, have an inborn trait to want to live. It causes the preservation of the human race. We want to live the live that God intended for us and to experience all the wonderful things here before we go to Heaven to experience other things. We aren't necessarily afraid to die and will be ready to go when He is ready to take us.

To begin with, not all Christians who are good go to heaven. Many will live on the "new earth/paradise" as promised in Psalm 37:9,11,29.

Even the great David whom the Bible refers to as being a man agreeable to God's heart did not ascend to the heavens (Acts 2:34).

To fear death is different from not wanting to leave your loved ones behind.

Well i am a firm believing christian and heaven is good but life is also so precious and it is only human nature that we dont want to die... if someone came up to u and tried to kill u u would surely defend yourself ?... i would...
but when our time comes we will go to heaven and there is only one way to heaven and that is by asking GOd to be your savior and asking him for forgiveness it is as simple as that the only hard part is meaning it... yeah u have to mean it when u say u r sry for sinning... and only the ppl who do that can go to heaven... not just the good ones... or the ones who have enough money... just the ones that say that prayer and believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior ... so God Bless

All Christians are ALL different. Some are afraid of death, and some aren't. I wouldn't ever say ALL Christians. It's just a natural human emotion to not want to die. When Jesus was crucified, he did not want to feel the pain and I bet he didn't want to die, but He did. I think it's a human thing. A survival mechanism.

Death is a result of the fall of man. It's not what God intended. Truly, Christians should have faith in God and not have a fear of dying, that doesn't mean they should want it. Although Paul said that he wished he could be in heaven with God, but that it was better for him to stay on earth and do the work of God for His people.

Those with a firm faith in Christ and His salvation should not have an irrational fear of death. It's a new experience, and the concept of eternity is very hard to fathom, so it's going to be a bit scary.

Personally, I hope I die in my sleep :)

I don't think there is a good Christian, I think we all strive to do "God's" will. None are perfect, but we try everyday. I think all Christians want to go to Heaven, I know I do. I will be so happy to see my loved ones who have gone on before, no more worrying, bills, sickness,disease......... i can hardly wait. It is God that decides the time though.

Because there is no such thing....they all oppress or look down at someone for something....take gay marriage, I could care less if someone wants to marry someone of the same sex, this is AMERICA, not the United States of Jesus Christ....In this country, there is a reason for the separation of church and state, because people do really crazy things in the name of religion, for example the salem witch trials, the crusades....

I want to die. I feel I should stay on Earth as long as God wants me too, but I just can't WAIT to go to heaven ( but I may have purgatory years of course) but isn't suffering worth it to be able to live in Hevean with with God and the saints!

Because there are far to many people here, on Earth, that have never had a chance to accept Jesus yet, and until that happens I want to stay here and tell of the good news.

I am going to heaven, but meanwhile I am enjoying my life on earth serving Him.

If all of us went there the moment we got saved, there would be nobody left here to tell others of His gift of salvation.
