I have been reading posts on people with OCD. I have been noticing similiraties between them and my sister. She's a teenager, and she has to check things a million times, like to make sure her lava lamp and fish tank is off, or the door is locked. She works, and she has to check her work schedule at least six times before she goes to bed to make sure she doesn't work the next day. Then, she sets her alarm really early the next day to make sure she didn't misinterpret her schedule. Also, before she goes to bed, she has a ritual of checking to make sure her cellphone, iPod, and all that is in the right place. EVERYTHING has to be tripled checked. Is this signs of OCD, or just compulsive weirdness? Please, don't be rude..

I just told her about Yahoo Answers and she posted a question two minutes ago and has gone back three times to see if people have answered it. Another sign?!

sounds like it very well could be. only a doctor can diagnose her, so she really should get in to see one. talk to your parents about it, and see what they think.

If she does things in rituals, like counting or checking things more than 2 or 3 times it could be a sign. People with OCD can be obsessed with anything. For instance, having things in order, germs, hording, cleanliness. If these obssessions interfere with her day to day life, I would suggest she talk to her doctor and be evaluated. Today's meds can help people with OCD live a fairly normal life.

I'm not a psychologist, but sounds to me as if she may just be very neat, tidy, and conciencious about her job. If these things aren't creating trouble in her own life, then there is no problem. When they begin to take over her thoughts and cause her to act out in some type of bad behavior, then I would ask her to seek help or assist her in finding help.

As someone who has been diagnosed with it,I'd say yes,but it's not really a BAD thing, unless it disrupts her quality of life, and those around her to the extreme
