Legally it is okay, but I think this 34 year-old is a bit too old. The 34year old is probably not mature enough to handle anybody closer to their age. If I were you sister's parents I'd be p@@d off!
No matter how mature the 18-year old appears to be this person doesn't have enough life experience to be tied down to a 34-year old pervert.
Remember O.J. Simpson was 34 when he hooked up with a 17 year old Nicole Brown-Simpson look how they turned out.

I hope she doesn't get serious,Both of them will have problems with this, In time they will grow further apart, interest will vary. There is nothing more stimulating to an older guy than a young woman. Young guys don't possess the carnal knowledge of the older man but it ends there. Little things mean a lot. he'll soon tire of going on rides, dancing fast etc. etc. etc.

Depending on the nature of the 34 year-old, I might be very upset. But, first I would want to know why he is dating my 18 year-old and what his history is.

I wouldn't say it's wrong. But, there is a high probability that she is going to get used and not loved. There is a high probability this guy is whacko. There is a small possiblility that it is okay but I'd say it's small. Usually guys who are looking for women half their age, are not looking to get married or really love someone. It's likely she'll end up with a broken heart and possibly VD.

Umm old enought to be her dad? Wrong as heck....Not so much for your sister, but if a 34 year old man can not find some one in is own generation, (almost a baby boomer) he probably has serious hidden issues, like ironing his underwear.

not wrong if they are happy, but there are some questions to be asked. Do they have much in common? What is a 34yo looking for in an 18yo? I know a 34yo who is dating a 60yo and they are perfectly happy, so age difference is really relative.
It's not usual but it could be real, but it's probably not.

What on Earth does he see in the 18yr old other than a sex-object that he can show off to his old mates?
I would bet my left arm that they've got nothin' in common and she probably has t'keep him.. or at least his age.. a secret. What's the point in this relationship?

Its her life, but I think that the 34 year old may be using her. You might want to tell her to be careful, but ultimately it is her decision.

No as long as they are happy then it is alright... but guys mature slower and people go into different stages in their life so they might be on the same level
